TV Spoilers for February, 2008

NBC has cancelled Bionic Woman

Friday, February 22nd, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Not really a surprise, but NBC has pulled the plug on Bionic Woman.

Although NBC isn’t talking, I’m told by multiple sources that Bionic staffers were informed late last week that the troubled reboot has indeed been canceled. That means no spring relaunch under new show-runner Jason Cahill — which is too bad. Cahill’s a talented guy (see: The Sopranos), and I was anxious to see what he would do with the show. But I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

NBC is obviously cranky about something with the axes falling all around the studio!

Las Vegas cancelled by NBC

Friday, February 22nd, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Did you love last Friday’s episode of Las Vegas? Well, I hope so, because that is the series finale… yep, I said SERIES finale. NBC has pulled the plug on the show and will not be renewing the series for a sixth season. Looks like Josh Duhamel will be able to focus his time on being Mr. Fergie!

And about that cliff hanger? No word on any kind of a two-hour TV movie-ish wrap up so fans will be left with that cliffhanger ending after putting in their five seasons worth of viewing into the show.

This sucks. What is it with NBC? They also cancelled Crossing Jordan without allowing them to do a series finale episode either, and I still haven’t forgiven them for that either!

Get ready for more Bachelor rose ceremony drama - make the bachelorettes cry

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

You can’t blame ABC for wanting to spice things up for the dismal finale last season which saw Brad flake out and chose neither girl at the end of the show (sheesh!) And while we have a brand new Bachelor - a British hottie this time - Bachelor Matt Grant, ABC is trying top up the notch of drama a bit… by holding the rose ceremonies between midnight at 5am.

Now, I have no idea if this means he will be waking them up in their beds to give them their rose, or if they are going to be making the bachelorettes stay up late enough that they will be either (a) drunk (b) passed out - from alcohol or exhaustion hehe, or (c) first class bitches from sleep deprivation. But looks like we will be getting tears, drama and hopefully some good catfights.

Now, you know Chris will be saying “the most shocking and/or dramatic rose ceremony ever” so let’s hope the Bachelorettes and Bachelor Matthew Grant can live up to our expectations!

Dog the Bounty Hunter starts filming new episodes for A&E

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

dogbountyhunter1.jpg

Dog the Bounty Hunter is going back into production! The network has confirmed that she show is coming back, but haven’t announced a premiere date yet. Apparently the filming is set to begin ASAP, and they have already hired people for the production!

There were episodes in production when the whole racial epithet incident hit the media (which you may recall was a private phone call recorded and sold by his son), so we could be seeing new episodes pretty quick. But even despite there being episodes already taped, it is a very good sign that new episodes are going to be filmed starting immediately. I assume that Da Kine bail bonds has continued to run its business despite it not being for television, and they always seem to have colorful characters to nab for our viewing enjoyment.

A network official confirms to TMZ that the show is going back into production, but they’ve not yet set a premiere date. As of now, they’re gearing up — big time — in Hawaii and production will begin ASAP. Makeup artists and camera crews have been hired, and houses and cars have been rented, all for the return of the show.

There is no word on how this affects Tim Chapman, who was in court on lewd behavior charges. But really, as much as fans like Tim, Duane “Dog” Chapman is the star of the show, and while his sidekicks provide entertainment - especially wife Beth - the show can definitely go on without him.

I am pleased to see Dog the Bounty Hunter will be back, and I can’t wait to find out when new episodes will begin airing.

Sunday, February 17th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

fridaynightlightscast.jpg

Say it ain’t so! Looks like NBC is considering shelving Friday Night Lights in this post writer’s strike world, and wrapping up the show from its current point with a mere two hour “movie of the week” format. But wait, there is the rumor that the show is being shopped around, which means that Friday Night Lights could end up on some other network instead. And taking a lead from Jericho, there is now a Save Friday Night Lights site.

Hottie Dancing with the Stars guy Maksim Chmerkovskiy won’t be on this season

Saturday, February 16th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

maksimchmerkovskiy.jpg

Dancing with the Stars is just around the corner, but Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be stepping this one out. Season Six will be getting underway on March 16th.

“He just needs a break,” an ABC spokesperson tells People. “He is part of the Dancing family, and he will be back” — perhaps for the occasional results show, and quite possibly as part of a Season 7 team.

The problem with bring a reality show star - especially when your claim to fame is as a ballroom dancer - is that when Maks is done his break the fans might not want him back again, or even care if he returns or not. And what if his replacement is better?

New Bachelor Matthew Grant to star in Bachelor 12

Friday, February 15th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bachelormattgrant1.jpg

We have some details on British global financier Matthew Grant who is starring as ABC’s latest Bachelor on the hit reality show. The show premieres on March 17th. They went for an international bachelor this time around, with Matthew from Bishops Stortford. Wonder if they had enough of these lame American bachelors once and for all. You can’t blame ABC after last season’s bachelor Brad Womack flake out!

Matthew - 6ft 5ins tall and blue-eyed - is the youngest of five brothers, all of whom are married. He says he is desperate to settle down.

A family man, Matthew is said to be very close to his siblings and his father Tony, 71, who still lives in the area.

Matthew attended Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, where he graduated with a BA in Modern History and Politics, and was captain of the university rowing club.

However local women who fancy their chances with Matthew may be disappointed as Matthew says he prefers American women as he finds them “extroverted and gregarious”, adding that his ideal mate will be funny, self-deprecating and outgoing.

And yes ladies, Matt Grant has a hot British accent!

ER might be back for a 15th season if they can trim the budget

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Because of NBCs contract, we know that ER will HAVE to be back in April, so we are just waiting on an air date from NBC. But now, Ausiello reports that there could be a 15th season of ER. Of course, there is a catch. If Warner Brothers can bring down the shows budget, that is.

According to the trades, NBC is contractually obligated to produce more episodes this season, so it’ll definitely return in April. And if Warner Bros. can shave enough $$$ off the budget for next season, there’s a decent chance it’ll be back for a 15th (!!!) season.
