TV Spoilers for August, 2007

Tom Everett Scott joins Cashmere Mafia as Lucy Liu’s finance

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Hottie Tom Everett Scott has signed on to the female-heavy cast of Cashmere Mafia, for at least one episode but likely more. He will play the finance of Mia, played by Lucy Liu. He is a “special guest star”, so odds of him turning up on future episodes are pretty good.

He’ll play the fiance — and workplace rival — of Lucy Liu’s character. Their engagement gets off to a rocky start when their boss, the head of a magazine publisher, pits the two against one another for a promotion.

Scott takes over the role from Timothy Adams, who played the part in the pilot.

I don’t know, but isn’t he a bit, um, young for Mia?

Lance Reddick & Ken Leung all join Lost

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Wow, it seems Lost has been ramping up new cast members this season.

Sources confirm that The Wire’s Lance Reddick has been cast in the recurring role of Arthur Stevens, the intimidating corporate-recruiter character I first told you about in last week’s Ask Ausiello. Reddick also had a lengthy arc on HBO’s Oz, where he starred opposite returning Lostie Harold Perrineau.

This comes on the heels of another key piece of Lost casting: the addition of Sopranos scene-stealer Ken Leung. However, the specifics of his character remain shrouded in mystery. Rumors had him playing a brilliant mathematician named Russell, but now there’s buzz that he’s coming on in a top-secret role that no one (save for Darlton) knows anything about. Feel free to get some speculation going in the comments section below. Also, what do you think of Reddick’s casting? Thumbs up? Thumbs down? Thumbs sideways?

It is clear Lance Reddick’s character is a flashbacks-only one, but we aren’t so sure about Ken Leung’s character yet. We will keep you posted!

Kristen Bell joins the cast of Heroes

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

After speculation that Kristen Bell would be joining the cast of Lost (which was my top choice!), Bell has changed her mind and joined the cast of Heroes instead. She is joining for a multiple episode arc.

Lost’s loss is the Heroes gang’s gain. Veronica Mars star Kristen Bell has been cast in what is being pegged as a “key multi-episode arc” for the second season of Heroes. Per Variety, Bell will first appear in October as Elle, “a sexy, mysterious young lady who (Spoiler alert) has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.’s past and Claire’s future. Landing the in-demand actress “was not easy to pull off,” Heroes creator Tim Kring tells the trade. “But since we’re an ensemble show, with many arcs playing out through the year, we found a way to jump into a small window in (Bell’s) schedule.”

Unreliable sources say Bell’s Heroes alter ego has the power to utterly destroy a person with a witty retort.

Marin Hinkle joins Brothers & Sisters

Monday, August 20th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Two and a Half Men’s Marin Hinkle has signed onto Brothers & Sisters, playing Sen. McCallister’s (Rob Lowe) ex-wife. Bring on the fireworks! Her character’s name is Courtney McCallister, and let’s just say she’s still feeling bitter about the whole divorce thing.

She is currently appearing in a single episode, but all indications are that she will likely be back for more. Courtney will make her appearance by doing a tell-all interview to a Larry King clone to talk about Sen. McCallister’s bid for the White House.

I don’t know about you, but I think this will be the episode I am most looking forward to!!

Lana Lang back for season seven of Smallville

Friday, August 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

So despite being blown up in the season finale of Smallville, Lana Lang will be back on Smallville. Kristin Kreuk has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of Smallville. So, how will she be returning? You guessed it, Lana the Clone.

Kristin of E! promises she will have more news on the return of Smallville’s Lana in Monday’s Watch with Kristin spoiler chat, so be sure to tune in.

Latest Bachelor couple Andy Baldwin & Tessa Horst cancel engagement

Friday, August 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Like we didn’t see this one coming! Lieutenant Andy Baldwin & Tessa Horst, season eleven’s final couple on the Bachelor, have cancelled their engagement, although they claim they are still “together. She was supposed to move to Hawaii this month to move in with her Officer & a Gentleman, but Baldwin has told In Touch Weekly, “When the fantasy wore off and the reality set in, we both realized we weren’t ready to be engaged. We’re taking things much slower.”

Not many people break engagements but still stay “together” so you can pretty much stick a fork in this couple and call it done.

Spoilers for the Grey’s Anatomy fourth season

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

greysanatomycast.jpg

A new season of Grey’s Anatomy and some fresh new spoilers! Many of these will be in the season premiere September 27th, but some will obviously carry over for a few episodes, and some are rather obvious from how we saw the plot going in the season finale.

George decides to repeat his internship, meaning he’ll be with all the new interns including Lexie, Meredith’s half sister. No word on which new resident will have either George or Lexie, but we know it won’t be Izzie.

The rest of the former interns are now residents, and are having issues with having to report to Callie. You know this will create some killer scenes!

Meredith joins Cristina on her honeymoon before they both return to Seattle Grace two weeks after Burke walked out on Cristina. And yes, Burke has resigned (shocking!). And Meredith uses the time away to consider her own relationship with Derek.

Bailey is still pretty upset with Richard for chosing Callie for Cheif Resident and is struggling to find her place on the hierarchy of the hospital.

Richard takes Derek’s advice and decides to return to his position as Seattle Grace’ Chief. And he and Adele get back together.

After Addison leaves (for Private Practice), Mark tries to befriend Derek again… and it sounds as though his relationship with Meredith will also play a role in this.

More interns returning on Grey’s Anatomy

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

One of the interns from last season’s season finale has also snagged a spot as a recurring character on Grey’s Anatomy. Candice Afia will be returning to Grey’s Anatomy. She has also appeared on The Riches and Criminal Minds.

Joseph Williamson (who played the hot intern in the season finale) will be returning as well. He has appeared in many other television shows including CSI: NY, House, Las Vegas, Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls.

Of the remaining two interns we saw last season, neither are returning as this season’s interns.

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Joe Mantegna has signed on to join CBS crime drama Criminal Minds. He will be replacing hissy-fitter Mandy Patinkin.

Many names had been attached to this role, most recently Harvey Keitel.

No word when Joe will first appear or more details on his character, but it is assumed he will be taking over as an FBI profiler.

Angelica Huston guests on Medium

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I haven’t seen Angelica Huston in anything for a while, but she will be showing up on Medium this fall, where she will play an investigator for the firm Ameritips named Cynthia Keener.

“When we decided to embark on a six-episode arc involving a formidable female character, the challenge was to find an actress who could hold the screen with Patricia [Arquette] while creating sparks of her own,” series creator Glenn Gordon Caron explains to the Hollywood Reporter. “I couldn’t be more excited or more inspired [to have Huston in the role]. The idea of writing for two such extraordinary actresses… is exactly the kind of creative kick in the ass we relish on Medium.”

No word yet on an airdate for the episode, but she will appear in six episodes.

Own a piece of Sopranos Satroale’s Pork Store hangout

Monday, August 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Still suffering from Sopranos withdrawl? Well, you can bring a little piece of Sopranos history home for your mob collection for $25 to $50 from the “Satriale’s Pork Store”. As fans will remember, this was one of Tony’s fave hangouts on the show. But since the building where the scenes were shot is being demolished, the owner had the brilliant marketing idea that he bets fans will pay for one of the available 2,000 white stone bricks.

What do you get for $25 or $50, besides that little piece of Sopranos history? A serial number and a certificate of authenticity.

Monday, August 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you loved the music in the Scrubs musical episode - My Musical - you are in luck. The soundtrack is now available for download on iTunes.

The episode, which was simply titled “My Musical,” was nominated for five Emmy Awards, and the soundtrack includes four songs penned by Avenue Q composers Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx: “Welcome to Sacred Heart,” “Everything Comes Down to Poo,” “The Truth Comes Out” and “Finale: Friends Forever/What’s Going to Happen.” Both “Poo” and “Guy Love” were nominated for Emmy Awards; the latter was written by “Scrubs” supervising producer Debra Fordham, Jan Stevens and Paul Perry.

Exclusive! Scoop on the new Grey’s Anatomy interns

Friday, August 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Exclusive to SpoilerBuzz! We have some inside scoop on the new Grey’s Anatomy interns who will be descending on Seattle Grace this season. Of course, we all know about Lexie AKA Bar Slut played by Chyler Leigh (who will be a regular cast member this season, if you haven’t heard). But what about the other newbie interns?

newinternsgreysanatomy.jpg

Claire
Claire will be played by Tymberlee Chanel who is a relatively unknown newcomber to television save for two guest roles. The first was on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation this year and Numb3rs.

Graciella
Graciella is played by Gloria Garayua. She has had some guest starring roles in Cold Case, the ill-received 3 Lbs., Strong Medicine, Joey, Six Feet Under and others.

Leo
Yes, we have a male intern too! Winston Story has had plenty of guest starring television roles as well, such as Dexter, That ’70s Show, The X-Files and Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. But also a relative newcomber to the scene.

internleogreysanatomy.jpg

As you may have noticed, these aren’t the interns who were in the last episode of the last season! Those interns were played by Ajay Vidure, Candice Afia, Artie O’Daly and Joseph Williamson. No word if they will be showing up this season as well or not.

Updated: We have also been told that one of the interns is going to try and pull a Cristina/Meredith and hook up with one of the McDoctors… I am going to guess it will be lonely McSteamy, since Addison will be off to Private Practice and we are going to assume Callie is over scratching that itch! And we already know that the Derek/Lexie hookup won’t be going on after all (WHEW!)

Updated Part Two: Richard Keith, shown in the trauma gown, is the fourth new male intern, Intern Mitch Greenberg. He has been on Veronica Mars, NCIS, Boston Public and Ed.

American Idol wannabe auditions her way through labor

Friday, August 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

americanidolbaby.jpg

Gotta give a girl credit, being nine months pregnant and auditioning for American Idol. But what’s a girl to do when she is just about to have her turn and the contractions start? If she is Antoria Gillan, she just keeps waiting her turn!

A 9-months-pregnant Antoria Gillon arrived at Texas Stadium in hopes of her one chance at super-stardom, and went into labor while waiting with more than 13,000 other “Idol” wannabes.

However, it wasn’t enough to stop her from going through with her audition.

Fighting off contractions, Antoria went before the judges and sang her best — and even made it through to the next round.

After her tryout, she was taken to a local hospital where she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy weighing 6 lbs., 7 oz., who she promptly named Jamil Labarron Idol McCowan.

“I didn’t want to turn around after being there all those hours in the heat with people pushing,” Gillon said. “So my friend helped me walk through the line. I wasn’t going to leave without singing. I gave it my all through the contractions. They were back to back and getting harder and harder but I was more than willing to have my baby right there. I wasn’t leaving without my golden ticket to the next round.”

Damn, you go girl!

Harvey Keitel in Criminal Minds talks

Thursday, August 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Harvey Keitel is in talks to join his first television series, Criminal Minds. He would be filling the void left by Mandy Patinkin. There has been no official confirmation as of yet, but I must admit, he certainly is an interesting choice by the Criminal Minds team. We will keep you posted one way or the other. No word on any role specifics at this time, other than it is to fill the gap left by Patinkin’s departure.

Someone male is dying on Desperate Housewives during February sweeps

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

desperatehousewivescast.jpg

Ack, and another one bites the dust. Good thing this show is called Desperate Housewives and not Desperate Husbands because yet another male character is going to be biting the dust this season. And you know the death will likely be of someone we either love or love to hate because Marc Cherry has it planned for February sweeps. Any thoughts on who you think the (un)lucky male will be?

Jessica Szohr joining CSI Miami as regular

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

csimiamicastnew.jpg

Suffering from withdrawl over What About Brian not being picked up for this season? Well, you will get to see Laura in a new role this season. Jessica Szohr has joined CSI Miami as a new A.V. Tech Specialist named Samantha Barrish. Not sure if the male hottie (in that geeky sort of way) will also be back in his recurring role as the A.V. Tech. We’ll keep you posted!

Grey’s Anatomy Derek & Lexie hook up not happening!

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

meredithderek.jpg

Whew, let’s breathe a collective sigh of relief…. the Derek / Lexie hook up storyline has been ditched, at least for the moment. Shonda now has another hookup in mind for the girl also known as “Bar Slut”… Alex! Not sure what this means for the whole Alex / Ava storyline, especially since we just learned that Elisabeth Reaser will be back this season.
