Freddy Rodriguez is Ugly Betty’s new love interest

Monday, July 16th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We reported that Ugly Betty would be getting a new love interest next season. Now we have the scoop that her love interest will be played by Six Feet Under actor Freddy Rodriguez.

On “Betty,” Rodriguez will play Gio, a smart, ambitious, aggressive and lovable blue-collar guy who runs the office sandwich cart and prides himself on making each sandwich a work of art. It won’t be long before sparks begin to fly between him and Betty (Ferrera).

This should be fun!

Mary Lynn Rajskub will return to 24 as Chloe

Monday, July 16th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the change in the 24 plotline for the entire seventh season means good news for Mary Lynn Rajskub. She will be returning next season on 24 as Chloe.

She also weighed in on the seventh season chaos with “I don’t know what’s going on over there, but they’re going crazy. … I don’t think we’re starting until a couple of weeks into August now. It’s kind of exciting, because I think it means that they’re really having to dig in there and come up with new stuff.”

Mandy Patinkin being written out of CBS Criminal Minds season premiere

Sunday, July 15th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like Mandy Patinkin has decided to throw a hissy fit by not showing up on the set of Criminal Minds this week. Patinkin, who is apparently peeved that he didn’t get a sizable salary bump for the new season, didn’t show up for the table read, which is the initial runthrough of the script.

The season premiere of Criminal Minds didn’t have a lot of scenes with Patinkin, feuling rumors he didn’t show up because the show was possibly planning to have him exit the season early…. but when you don’t show up on the set, it is pretty much a forgone conclusion you will definitely be asked to leave the season early.

Sheesh, when will actors learn you can’t play hardball if you expect to keep your job… remember Suzanne Sommers?

24’s entire Season 7 ordered to be rewritten by FOX

Friday, July 13th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

FOX has scrapped nearly the entire season 7 plotline of their hit series 24,just a couple weeks before the entire cast and crew was supposed to start filming. The primary reason is that it was too expensive to shoot several episodes planned in Africa, and transforming Los Angeles to look like Africa wasn’t going to work either (sheesh, wonder why?)

So the writers are back at the drawing board rewriting an entire season. And this means that filming, which was supposed to start at the end of July is pushed back at least three weeks to mid-August.

24’s season 7 is scheduled to premiere in early 20078.

One Tree Hill scoop for next season - four years in the future

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

OK, I still don’t know what to think about One Tree Hill doing the (almost) unthinkable and setting next season four YEARS after the last one left off, but they are. But lucky for us, Ausiello has a whole bunch of scoop for next season.

a cocky new Ravens player who will butt heads with Lucas, a New York book editor who has a hard time balancing work and play, plus a manipulative business executive with a cruel streak and a beautiful and nurturing nanny for Nathan and Haley’s son, James. Speaking of that baby we left in diapers last season, expect one smart little boy when we return.

So what do you think? Will this experiment of jumping years be a success or a miserable failure?

Change is coming to Grey’s Anatomy

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

greysanatomy.jpg

I don’t think Shonda Rhimes could have called it any better. The season premiere episode of Grey’s Anatomy season four is titled “A Change is Going to Come.”

With Burke gone, Meredith’s half-sister arriving, the whole Gizzie thing, not to mention poor Bailey losing the cheif resident position, there is a whole lot of change that is going to come!

Sean Huntington joins Cavemen, replacing Dash Mihok

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the new ABC series Cavemen, inspired by the Geico commercials featuring cavement dumped into modern society, is undergoing some creative changes before airing. Sam Huntington has been brought on board to play a new Caveman Andy. Andy is Joel’s (Bill English) little brother, and replaces Jamie - another little brother - played in the pilot by Dash Mihok.

The series also stars Nick Kroll as Nick, the best friend to Joel.

Also in the creative changes, a new first episode will be filmed and will air before the pilot, with this new episode looking at the Cavemen’s backstory. Then the pilot episode - with the new little brother scenes re-filmed - will air later in the season.

Am I the only one who wishes they kept the original Geico Cavemen?

Kevin Pollak joins Shark on CBS in recurring role

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Kevin Pollak has signed on with CBS for a recurring role on legal drama Shark, playing the new Los Angeles District Attorney Lloyd Cutter. He defeated Jessica Devlin (played by Jeri Ryan) in her ill-fated bid for re-election.

Shark will start its second season this fall on CBS.

Michael Cassidy joins Smallville as new Daily Planet editor

Monday, July 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Well, Smallville was looking for a hottie, and they found one. They have signed Hidden Palms and The O.C. hottie Michael Cassidy to play the role of the brand new Daily Planet editor.

And yes, he replaces Carrie Fisher as editor. He won’t be seen until the second episode, but how long will he stay? Well, Ausiello reports it will be at least six episodes, which probably means if fans love him (or love to hate him!) that he will stick around for much longer than that.

At only age 24, he might be a tad young to play the editor, but come on ladies, do we really care when we have this gorgeous piece of eye candy to ogle for at least six episodes?

Donald Trump likely to say You’re Fired for at least one more Apprentice season

Monday, July 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like NBC is about to announce a deal that would see Donald Trump stay on for at least one more season of The Apprentice, with an option for one more after that. As you will remember, there was a whole Donald Trump brouhaha when NBC left The Apprentice off of the new fall season schedule, which sent Donald Trump into a hissy fit where he declared NBC couldn’t fire him, because he quit. Of course, for a supposed businessman, he failed to think about that pesky little thing called a contract, which meant oops, NBC could contractually bring him back for the next season whether he wanted to or not, so they were back in negotiations, surprise surprise.

Now, someone close to the deal says they are close to signing a new contract which would include the upcoming season with either one more after that, or an option for one. Not bad for someone who publicly said he quit.

Rumor has it that NBC will be announcing the renewal on July 16th at their annual summertime presentation to TV critics.

Let’s just hope part of the deal means he cans his kids and brings back his former show partners… I know, I know, slight chance, but hey, a girl can wish can’t she ;)

Ugly Betty’s Mode gets a new female editor

Monday, July 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like there will be some new competition amongst the female staffers at Mode! Ugly Betty is casting a new female editor who will be hot, stylish and will apparently know just about everything there is to know about fashion.

Chyler Leigh set to join Grey’s Anatomy as series regular

Friday, July 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

greysanatomycast.jpg

Very bad news for Mer-Der fans! Chyler Leigh, AKA Grey’s Anatomy Bar Slut, will likely be a regular series cast member next year instead of the 13 episode arc it was supposed to be. What does this mean? Well considering Meredith’s current non-relationship with her father, and the fact her half-sister would be an intern, not to mention the not-so-innocent flirting we saw, it equals bad, bad news. And you must admit, it is pretty ballsy for her half-sister to apply for internship at Seattle Grace, considering all the back history.

But from Derek’s perspective, it would be pretty dirty to sleep with your girlfriends (or ex-girlfriends) sister, no matter how you slice or dice it. Of course, he did sleep with Meredith when they barely knew each other’s names.

Bah!

Ugly Betty getting a new love interest next season

Thursday, July 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

uglybetty.jpg

Looks like Ugly Betty and Henry won’t be together for long when the new season begins. Producers have hunted up a new love interest for Betty. He will be a twenty-something character named Gio, and he is a sandwich cart boy at the magazine. According to Ausiello, “He’s described in the script as “ambitious, aggressive and lovable,” and it sounds like he’ll be sticking around all season.”

Sorry to all you Betty and Henry shippers out there!

Deadwood’s Brent Sexton joins NBC’s Life

Thursday, July 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Brett Sexton has joined the Damian Lewis led drama Life permanently, after a guest spot in the series pilot. He plays cop Bobby Sparks, who is Damian Lewis’ character’s former partner. The series follows the life of an ex-cop who has just rejoined the police force after being wrongfully found guilty and serving time.

Everwood’s Stephanie Niznik joins CW’s Life is Wild

Thursday, July 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Stephanie Niznik, best known as Nina Feeney on Everwood, has joined CW’s new drama Life is Wild. She will play the second wife to a NYC veterinarian, played by D.W. Moffett. The premise of the series follows the pair who move to South Africa - to a game reserve no less - and each with their own set of children.

Interestingly, both parents were played by others in the pilot, but were recast from Judith Hoag and Brett Cullen.

Niznik also appeared in the recent Grey’s Anatomy two hour Private Practice spinoff episode as one of the parents hoping the surrogate’s child was hers.

Audra McDonald replaces Merrin Dungey on Private Practice

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Private Practice is doing some of that tweaking we knew they would. And Merrin Dungey, who played Addison’s best friend Merrin Dungey, has been replaced by Audra McDonald.

I think this is a good decision, personally I thought Kate Walsh and Merrin Dungey just didn’t have any kind of chemistry whatsoever, even that one would expect to see as best friends. And to boot, she didn’t even seem to have chemisty with Taye Diggs, who played her ex husband. And come on, how many people canNOT have chemistry with him! It was one of the main reasons I was disappointed in it.

Wonder if there will be any other major shakeups.

Dana Delaney might be newest wife on Desperate Housewives

Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Dana Delaney is in talks to be the new housewife to land on Wisteria Lane. She will be a wife with a much younger (and hot!) hubby in tow.

Delaney was apparently offered the original role of Bree Van De Kamp, but turned the role down before going onto star in NBC’s Kidnapped, which was quickly shown the door.

We will keep you posted if she lands the job! But it does sound as though it is hers if she wants it… and who wouldn’t want to be on a hit show, especially after your last one tanked?
