Paula Abdul breaks her nose right before American Idol season finale

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

paulaabdul.jpg

If you are not a fan of American Idol, you just got an excuse to watch the season finale of the hit reality show this week. TVGuide is reporting the favorite American Idol judge broke her nose this weekend.

Amazingly, this week’s American Idol just got even more TiVo-worthy. A spokesperson for Paula Abdul tells TV’s Extra that over the weekend, Idol’s erstwhile Pollyanna tripped while trying to avoid her chihuahua, Tulip, and as a result, broke her nose. (Aren’t you supposed to tiptoe past the Tulip, as the song goes?)

Talk about bad timing! I wonder if she’ll be all bandaged up… or even all drugged up on pain killers. I would hate to see her miss judging the final episode though!

The Bachelor spoilers on who gets the final rose

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Stop reading if you don’t want to be spoiled!

Apparently Tessa, who had a few too many drinks while chatting with a New York Post reporter, revealed that she receives the final rose and proposal… but she doesn’t accept. But she does say they are still together.

Then ABC released a video montage which included a scene from the final rose ceremony showing Tessa and Andy embracing… Ooops!

But in a subsequent interview with Andy, his rep jumped in to reveal that he proposes, is currently engaged, and the recipient of his proposal says yes… but notice it’s not clear if she says yes during the ceremony, or at a later date (remember the show was taped months ago).

End result? My money is on Tessa being the one to receive the final rose.

The Bachelor does get engaged on tonight’s finale

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bachelorandybaldwin.jpg

Rumor has it that Andy Baldwin does get engaged on tonight’s finale, which pits Bevin and Tessa against each other vying for Andy’s heart and soul… and yes, a diamond engagement ring. So does this mean we won’t get lame promises of a promise ring - or worse, plane tickets to visit?

From the official ABC press release:

Andy returns to his childhood home of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to share his experience of a lifetime with his family and asks them for guidance in making one of the most difficult decisions of his life - choosing between the two remaining women. Tessa joins Andy and his family for lunch, and when she leaves, Bevin arrives to join the family for dinner. Which woman will his family think is best suited for their son? Then, with time running out, Andy returns to Oahu, Hawaii for his final two dates.

On his first tryst, the Bachelor swoops Bevin away on a helicopter ride over the scenic coast with hiking and picnicking in the mountains. Andy takes Tessa horseback riding on the beach before they swim and canoodle in the ocean. After each woman professes her love in a last attempt to capture his heart, Andy delivers a devastating rejection. A tearful and heartbroken bachelorette must walk away from the man with whom she wanted to spend the rest of her life.

At long last, in a deeply romantic scene that could literally jump off of a movie screen, the officer and gentleman gives out his final rose and an engagement ring with a life-changing proposal to the woman who has captured his heart.

So any guesses? We have the spoiler of the supposed chosen one blabbing to a reporter after a few too many drinks!

US Navy refused The Bachelor filming at any naval bases or Andy in uniform

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the US Navy wanted to keep its distance from the ABC reality dating show The Bachelor by refusing to cooperate with filming of the show, or allow any shots to be filmed (with a few exceptions) of Andy in his naval uniform. This meant that there could not be any official navy sites used as backdrops.

Producers of the ABC reality series “The Bachelor” - which this season featured a Pearl Harbor-based Navy lieutenant - had to improvise to create a naval backdrop for the show.

That’s because they Navy chose not to cooperate with the production showing Lieutenant Andy Baldwin selecting his life partner from 25 female contestants.

Camera crews were not allowed to film any scenes on naval bases, nor film Baldwin in uniform, aside from some limited exceptions.

But you may remember the dates with Andy and two bachelorettes on the aircraft carrier? Turns out that aircraft carrier is now a tourist attraction and was previously decommissioned by the Navy.

The USS Midway was the site of 1 improvised scene. Baldwin and two women hoping to become his girlfriend ate dinner on the aircraft carrier after Baldwin gave them a tour of the vessel.

But the Midway is not part of the Navy’s’ fleet anymore - it is a retired ship that has been turned into a museum moored at a city pier in San Diego.

I am guessing they were a little leery about the potential publicity this would bring!

New Heroes being introduced tonight on season finale of Heroes

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

heroes.jpg

Along with seeing the first three minutes of season two, fans will also be introduced to some new Heroes! Bad news is that some of the older Heroes will be leaving.

Perhaps Micah will face come competition with new Heroes. Kring has promised to continue exploring new people with new powers. “There are several new characters coming in the immediate future,” said Kring. “The idea of the show from the start was always to basically honor the origin story of the first sort of flush and discovery of these powers. So in order to do that, new characters will have to be cycled into the show. By extension, older characters will cycle out of the show.”

I wonder which other older Heroes will be getting the boot?

Season Two of Heroes to be Volume Two: Generations

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

An interesting comment by Masi Oka, who plays Hiro on Heroes, about tonight’s season finale, including an interesting tidbit about how the seasons work. He reveals that season two is actually referred to as Volume Two, with the name “Generation”.

Hiro himself, Masi Oka, gave more hints about where the finale leaves us for Season Two. “The way the finale ends, it’s a wrapping up of Volume One, which is ‘Genesis,’” said Oka. “It wraps up the whole bomb storyline so it’s a nice finale and there’s a great cliffhanger with everybody I would say. And then you do get to see a little bit of Volume Two, which is called ‘Generation.’”

Series creator Tim Kring was reluctant to expand upon the “Generation” title, but gave a little tease anyway. “Well, there has clearly been the idea [that] multiple generations have started to crop up on the show,” said Kring. “In the second season, we’ll deal with that more. So hence the title ‘Generation.’”

This also means that they are planning to have each season serve more closely as a stand-alone season, so fans who have never seen an episode can start with the first episode of season two and not feel completely lost.

The plan is to give each season its own story, rather than maintain one overall arc as Lost is attempting. “The idea was that we wanted to make it easy for viewers to be able to come on in the second season,” said Kring. “We thought if we wrapped the show too tightly around itself so that you had to have watched 22 episodes before, it would be harder for the new viewers to join in the show. We always want to be a show that has the barrier of entry low enough so that new viewers can join whenever they want.”

And as an added bonus, fans will see the first three minutes of “Generation” in tonight’s season finale.

Whatever it is, when you see the end of Heroes, you’ll know exactly where we’ll pick up next year. “The last three minutes are the beginning of next season which is cool,” said Grunberg. “That’s what he means. The last three minutes of the season finale are the first three minutes of next season, which is something we’ve been doing on the show all year long.”

Jericho fans promised closure by CBS despite cancelation

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

jericho.jpg

Many Jericho fans were left in the lurch after CBS failed to renew the show for a second season. Enough fans contacted CBS with their displeasure that CBS has now promised that they will provide closure to the fans of the series.

The statement from CBS:

To the fans of Jericho:

We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show — both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.

Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment

What will the closure be? A short story detailing the end? A two hour movie? Something available exclusively on CBS.com as a download? It will be interesting to see… and if it is something “watchable”, if enough fans watch could they ultimately bring back the series?

Another America’s Next Top Model has been crowned - Jaslene

Sunday, May 20th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We have yet another America’s Next Top Model winner, this time Jaslene Gonzalez.

After failing to make the show last year, Jaslene Gonzalez, the 20-year-old stunning brunette from Chicago, beat out Russian immigrant Natasha Galkina to win the $100,000 US Cover Girl contract.

“Every little girl has a dream to be something and to be here, I overcame so much,” she said.

“I didn’t make it the first time but, now, look at me … That shows to all young women, if you have that drive, keep going. Second time around, and I’m America’s Next Top Model.”

Interestingly enough, none of the winners of this reality show have gone on to become supermodels.

NBC picks up Lipstick Jungle by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell

Sunday, May 20th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lipstickjungle.jpg

NBC has picked up Lipstick Jungle for at least thirteen episodes as a mid-season replacement show that will begin airing in January 2008. The show, based on the novel by Sex and the City author Candace Bushnell, stars Brooke Shields (Suddenly Susan amongst other things such as her tiff with Tom Cruise over anti-depressants), Lindsay Price (Beverly Hills, 90210 fame) and Kim Raver (of 24 and The Nine).

The show follows three high powered friends in New York City (sound familiar?). While relationships will play a part, its focus will be on the impact having high powered careers - and how they will do just about anything, and put everything on the line, for success in the male dominated business world.

Donald Trump quits The Apprentice after NBC leaves it off fall schedule

Sunday, May 20th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

apprenticetrump.jpg

After Donald Trump’s show The Apprentice was left off the new fall schedule, it appears The Donald didn’t take the rejection too well. He fired back with an “I quit”.

Donald Trump, whose low-rated reality show “The Apprentice” was left off the new prime-time schedule unveiled this week by NBC, says the network can’t fire him — he quits.

The real estate mogul issued a statement on Friday saying he has informed the U.S. television network he is “moving on from ‘The Apprentice’ to a major new TV venture,” though he declined to elaborate.

There was no immediate comment from NBC.

But his announcement appeared to end any lingering doubt that “The Apprentice,” which turned the self-styled tycoon into a television star and popularized the catch phrase, “You’re fired,” would be banished from NBC’s airwaves next season.

But there has to be some sort of contract there, I would love to see NBC hold him to a contract if there are still a couple more rounds of the Apprentice on it. Donald Trump has always been a bit too volitaile for his own good.

Isaiah Washington’s rep is insisting he’s returning to Grey’s Anatomy next season

Sunday, May 20th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

isaiahwashington.jpg

Isaiah Washington’s rep is insistant that the star is returning to the hit show Grey’s Anatomy next season, despite the fact he doesn’t have a contract nor any kind of confirmation that he is returning. As you will recall, in the season finale Burke didn’t get the job of Chief, and last we saw, he had cleared out the apartment he shared with Cristina of all his valued possessions. And ABC itself is refusing to confirm if he is coming back or not.

Isaiah Washington’s Dr. Preston Burke packed his bags on the season finale of “Grey’s Anatomy” but that doesn’t mean the actor is being dumped by the show, his publicist said Friday.

“We fully expect to be back in the fall,” spokesman Howard Bragman said. “The deal’s not done but we have no reason to believe he won’t be putting on the scrubs.”

A furor over Washington’s use of an anti-gay slur had provoked speculation that his job might be in jeopardy. He said the word backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he’d used it previously against castmate T.R. Knight.

I hope there is hope he is getting the boot!

Heroes season finale spoiler about the bomb!

Thursday, May 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

heroes.jpg

So we have been hearing about this bomb that is supposed to go off in the season finale. Well, it turns out we may be taking the word bomb a bit too literally.

In cryptic Ausiello style:

“The bomb” is a series regular, male and was in the pilot.

Any guesses?

Season finale spoilers for Ugly Betty

uglybetty.jpg

Ausiello has some great scoop for the season finale.

Question: I will send you a case of Raspberry Snapple for any inside scoop you have on the Betty/Henry relationship on Ugly Betty. Diet Raspberry Snapple to follow…— Mary
Ausiello: At ABC’s upfront, Betty creator Sylvio Horta said this about tomorrow’s finale: “Betty is going to take some steps to getting a relationship started [with Henry], and there will be some obstacles. That’s all I can say.” Meanwhile, my BFF Becki Newton offered up her own season finale tease: “Amanda may or may not discover new things about herself.”

So, what do you think? All the Betty/Henry shippers will be happy! And I wonder what Amanda may or may not discover?

T.R. Knight will return to Grey’s Anatomy next season

Thursday, May 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com
trknight.jpg

After the announcement that a main cast member would not return next season, and especially with T.R. Knight’s character George O’Malley poised to leave Seattle Grace for Mercy West, rumors began flying that it would be T.R. that would be leaving the show (instead of Burke which I think nearly every fan wants to see!)

But Ausiello has confirmed that T.R. Knight will return next season! I am happy to hear that. I never really thought he would leave, but then again, you never know… maybe he is not happy that Isaiah Washington is still on the set, especially since they tend to work closely.

But it didn’t go unnoticed that George is not Burke’s best man, like you would have thought he would have been.

Private Practice to be overhauled for its first season

Thursday, May 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like Shonda is listening to fan’s gripes about the new Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice, and will be making some changes for its first season.

Private Practice Will Be Tweaked a Bit: More story. More drama. Less character introduction now that we’re moving past the pilot. McPherson points out that while Grey’s is about young, up-and-coming surgeons finding their way, this show is about established docs who already have deep relationships and connections. “We are not trying to imitate Grey’s.”

Maybe this will help fans give it a second chance when it airs this fall.
