Bachelor Andy Baldwin and Tessa still engaged and on vacation

Saturday, May 26th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like this season’s Bachelor might have really found true love, as Andy Baldwin and his chosen bachelorette Tessa are still together and vacationing in Hawaii (where Andy is stationed with the navy) after doing all the requisite media this past week for ABC.

Returning to Hawaii with his new fiancee, “The Bachelor” Andy Baldwin said keeping his engagement to Tessa Horst a secret for two months was excruciating.

Baldwin and Horst went to the islands Friday after a week of media appearances following the ABC show’s finale, which was aired Monday but filmed two months ago. The couple were welcomed by about 100 fans at a press conference at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider on Waikiki Beach.

Baldwin recalled people driving by him on the freeway, yelling “Pick Tessa!” He said he wanted to respond, “I already did.”

Baldwin, a 30-year-old doctor, Navy diver and triathlete, said he has no plans of parlaying his newfound stardom into a modeling or acting career. He still has a year left at Pearl Harbor and is considering another tour of duty.

“Fact of the matter is, I’m committed to the Navy,” he said.

A wedding date has not been set, but Baldwin says he envisions one with a Hawaiian and Navy flair, including tropical flowers and an arch of swords ceremony.

It will be interesting to see how long they will last… and if she is definitely moving to Hawaii to be closer to her intended.

Dirty Sexy Money lands on ABC fall schedule

Saturday, May 26th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Well, you have to commend them for not only picking a catchy title, but also their stellar cast… who doesn’t love Donald Sutherland, especially after his role on Commander in Chief. Sexy Dirty Money has been picked up by ABC for their Fall 2007/2008 schedule.

Some people say money is the root of all evil. They may be right. Nick George’s whole life has been lived in the shadow of the Darling family, but as an adult he’s leading the perfect life as an idealistic lawyer, until his father’s suspicious death. The absurdly wealthy Darlings of New York have asked him to take over his father’s job as their personal lawyer, but the money that will allow him the freedom to be an altruistic do-gooder is only part of the picture. That same money pulls him into the dubious doings of the Darling clan. Power, privilege and family money are a volatile cocktail.
PRINCIPAL CAST INFORMATION:
· Donald Sutherland as Tripp Darling
· Glenn Fitzgerald as Brian Darling
· Jill Clayburgh as Letitia Darling
· Laz Alonso as Colin Davidson
· Natalie Zea as Karen Darling
· Peter Krause as Nick George
· Samaire Armstrong as Juliet Darling
· Seth Gabel as Jeremy Darling
· William Baldwin as Patrick Darling
· Zoe McLellan as Lisa George

It will air on Wednesdays at 10pm following Private Practice, the new Grey’s Anatomy spinoff.

Ooops, American Idol overrun means customers missed Jordin’s win

Saturday, May 26th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Did you TiVo the season finale of American Idol? If you did, it means you missed Jordin Sparks being crowned the American Idol winner!

Fox has apologized for Wednesday night’s broadcast of American Idol’s sixth season finale extending beyond its scheduled two-hour run, Broadcasting & Cable reported Thursday, with the network offering the somewhat lame excuse that it was due to the finale airing live. However the mea culpa no doubt comes as little condolence to viewers who recorded the finale using a DVR, as they missed 17-year-old Glendale, AZ-native Jordin Sparks being announced as the youngest winner in Idol’s history, which occurred at 10:03PM ET.

“We’re sorry that DVR users may have missed the conclusion of the American Idol broadcast,” a spokesperson for Fox said in a statement, according to Broadcasting & Cable. “It was always our intention to bring the show in on time, but just as with any live sports, variety, awards or entertainment event, there is no way to absolutely guarantee that the show will end exactly on the hour. Fox and the producers apologize to those viewers who were inconvenienced.”

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why they aren’t turning this into a huge marketing opportunity, with a season recap featuring never before scene footage of Jordin and other finalists, ending with Ryan Seacrest revealing the winner, and the rest of us - who watched it live - also getting to see Jordin actually finish singing the song after the win, as well as reaction of the judges seeing her win, rather than cutting it off to go to local news as those of us who watched in live saw.

Charlie will likely be back on future seasons of Lost

Thursday, May 24th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Yes, they killed poor tortured Charlie. But sounds as though even though he is dead (or so they tell us!) he will be back in future episodes, although not in the “present”.

In an interview TVGuide did with Dominic Monaghan after the season finale with the death scene aired.

TVGuide.com: And Charlie will be back in some way again on Lost, right?
Monaghan: It’s really not up to me. I think, to a certain extent, if I was writing the show, we may not be having this interview right now. That’s a question for the writers. [Says Lindelof: “You’ll still be feeling Charlie’s presence very much, although the character is dead. That’s not to say that we won’t see him again. You just won’t be seeing him in the present.” Adds executive producer Carlton Cuse, “If you look at the show, a lot of characters work more when they’re dead than they did when they were alive.”]

And since his girlfriend/fiance is Evangeline Lilly (Kate) it is pretty darn likely he will turn up in a future episode or three. Because let’s face it, how many times have we seen dead Losties pop up in episodes after their death airs?

Dave “Sex” Soller is back auditioning on this season of So You Think You Can Dance.

Thursday, May 24th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Remember “Sex” from last season of So You Think You Can Dance AKA Dave Soller? Just in case your memory needs refreshing, here is his infamous performance.

Well, Cat Deeley - host of So You Think You Can Dance - spills the beans that the wannabe danncer Dave “Sex” Soller actually came back and auditioned again for the third season… and all without any prompting from the show.

TVGuide.com: Are there any returning dancers who didn’t make it last season?
Deeley: Well, you might want to sit down for this: “Sex” [aka last year’s most delusional wannabe from New York] is back. You might want to have a cold shower on standby for afterwards.

TVGuide.com: Did the producers call him up and ask him to return?
Deeley: No! It didn’t take any persuasion for either him or his mother. There have been a couple of other people who’ve come back, and some have even made it through. I can’t tell you any more than that. It’s very interesting.

I think it is even more hysterical when the worst people who audition for reality shows actually have the nerve (and bravery!) to come back and try again, certain that the judges were wrong in their scathing rejections the first time around.

More details on Hidden Palms, the CW’s teen soap for summer

Thursday, May 24th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We have a bit more information about Hidden Palms, which the CW is hoping will draw in teens who have nothing better to do during the summertime than watch television.

The show brings back some NYPD Blues alumni (Sharon Lawrence and Gail O’Grady), as well as Taylor Handley of The O.C.), Tessa Thompson from Veronica Mars and Leslie Jordan of Will and Grace.

It’s the story of Johnny (Taylor Handley, gun-wielding Oliver on “The O.C.”), who moves from Seattle to Palm Springs, Calif., with his mom (Gail O’Grady, “American Dreams”) and stepdad (D.W. Moffett).

Viewers meet Johnny in a prologue on the night of his father’s suicide when Johnny is a clean-cut kid — he does his homework while clad in an oxford button-down and sweater — and then we’re reintroduced to him a year later when he’s perfected a disaffected-youth look: An Army jacket over dark T-shirts, perfect gear for the kid who’s just out of rehab for alcohol abuse.

In Palm Springs, Johnny meets ne’er-do-well neighbor Cliff (Michael Cassidy, nice-guy Zach on “The O.C.”), who initially comes off as a vaguely menacing cad. Evidently producers felt that wasn’t enough to clue in the audience, so late in the pilot he kicks a dog.

Cliff has some sort of history with Greta (Amber Heard), the hottie Johnny romps through sprinklers with on a golf course at night. Cliff and Greta were friends with the kid who lived in Johnny’s room before him. That boy, Eddie (J.D. Pardo), is now dead, which sets up a mystery that runs through the eight-episode series. (Williamson promised closure at a January press conference: “Yes, there is a wrap-up. Yes, we do reveal everything we need to reveal. And yes, (the story) continues.”) Initially, some of the character archetypes seem like a retread of “Dawson’s” with Greta as the Jen character and less-glamorous neighbor Liza (Ellary Porterfield) as the Joey, but subsequent episodes appear to disprove that notion.

The show premieres on May 30th on the CW.

Mary-Kate Olsen joins Weeds… without her twin Ashley

Thursday, May 24th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

weeds.jpg
Apparently Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen can do more things apart than just go to eating disorders rehab. Mary-Kate has signed on solo as a series regular on the edgy Showtime series Weeds.

Olsen will play Tara, a devoted Christian girl living in the newly developed megachurch community Majestic who becomes a love interest for Nancy Botwin’s ( Mary-Louise Parker) son Silas (Hunter Parrish). Olsen will appear in 10 of the 15 episodes of the show’s third season, which premieres August 13.

If you are thinking she is an unusual choice for the show, even series creator made a comment defending the choice of casting.

“‘Weeds’ isn’t your 8 o’clock family fare,” series creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan said. “It’s an adult show with adult subject matter, and we’re confident Mary-Kate is right for the role. She came in and read with Hunter and was absolutely charming and real and seemed like a great fit. Audiences have seen only one side of Mary-Kate, but here we’ll see her in a whole new light.”

An interesting choice, we’ll have to see how it pans out for Mary-Kate.

Dog the Bounty Hunter & Beth removed from airplane for being abusive

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

dogbountyhunter2.jpg

We know how protective Beth can get when it comes to hubby Duane Chapman, AKA Dog the Bounty Hunter. Well, she didn’t take so kindly to Dog being asked to buckle his seatbelt before takeoff, and she verbally abused the poor female flight attendent. End result? The family removed form the airplane and met by no less than six police officers.

United Airlines officials kicked bounty hunter Duane Dog Chapman and his wife Beth off a flight for allegedly causing an on-board disruption. The couple had to catch another flight to Denver from Los Angeles on Monday morning after airport police said they were kicked off the plane.

Leland and Timothy Chapman, who were traveling with the couple, also got off the plane.

An airport spokeswoman said Dog and Beth Chapman were loud and swearing. When the flight crew asked them to quiet down, the reality TV stars refused.

The plane returned to the gate for safety reasons, causing a 30-minute delay, a United Airlines spokeswoman said.

Airport police escorted the couple off the plane.

No one was arrested.

Airport police said that Dog Chapman thanked and apologized to police.

Really, you’d think they’d know better, especially when he is trying not to get his butt sent back to a Mexican prison.

Apolo Anton Ohno wins Dancing with the Stars

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I admit, I do like Apolo Ohno back from his first Olympics. And now he has achieved reality star super status by claiming the title of Dancing with the Stars champion.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno earned a new title Tuesday: “Dancing With the Stars” champion.

The speed skater and his partner, Julianne Hough, beat out former ‘N Sync star Joey Fatone to win the ABC dance-off’s mirror-ball trophy.

“I feel amazing,” the ebullient Ohno said. “You put your mind to something, you give 100 percent, sacrifice and dedication, anything is possible.”

Ohno, 25, became a technical master during the season, training in the dance studio as he would on the ice.

“Apolo’s competitiveness is almost on the verge of insanity,” his coach, John Schaeffer, said on Tuesday’s show.

I have to say I am happy he won the finale, although I have to say John (AKA Cliff Claven) departure from the show earlier in the season made my decision of who to cheer for much easier!

Lost season finale spoilers - a Lostie dies & flash forwards to life after the island

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lostcast1.jpg

Gasp! Someone is dying on the season finale…

This post is full of a ton of spoilers, so don’t read more if you don’t want to be spoiled!!!

But first, from Kristen at E!

I cannot wait to show you the Lost finale exclusive we scored! As I’ve been mentioning for a while now, the finale is nuts—there is at least one death and also that big “game changer”—and… big news! On Wednesday night, after the finale airs on the West Coast, right in this very spot, I will have an exclusive, sit-down, on-camera interview with the deceased Lostie (get ready to weep), plus, a Q&A with show runner Damon Lindelof to try and get to the bottom of what it all means. Make sure you check back Wednesday night or first thing Thursday morning.

Rumor on the blogosphere is that Charlie is the one who will (finally, after multiple near-death experiences) die, and death comes by drowning after a grenade goes off.

We also see what we assume are flashbacks, but they turn out they are flash forwards to life AFTER the island. Both Jack and Kate are in the flashforwards, with Jack screaming to Kate that they need to go back to the island.

Now, how did they get off the island? And did anyone else other than Jack & Kate survive?

WOW.

E.R. not bringing back Shane West as series regular next season

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

shanewest.jpg

Yep, it is true. Hottie Shane West is leaving E.R. and it sounds like the decision was made by the show, not Shane.

Is Shane West off of ER?
Yep. Inside sources tell me the producers wanted to “clean house” a bit—which apparently is a euphemism for “chop his character’s legs off at the knee”—so Shane’s no longer a series regular, although he may return for guest spots. Shane shot a pilot called Supreme Courtships, a comedy for Fox, but sadly, it was not picked up.

We had been hearing rumors that he would not be back, and it appears to be true. Keep your fingers crossed he will return for some guest star spots though!

Blake & Jordin’s American Idol song choices for season finale

Monday, May 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

americanidolseattle.jpg

We’ve got some spoilers about the song choices by Blake and Jordin for the season finale of American Idol!

Rumor has it that Blake will (not surprisingly) reprise “You Give Love a Bad Name,” his showstopper from Bon Jovi week, while Jordin will bring back “Broken Wing,” which she originally sang during country week.

Blake’s new song is apparently Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved’ (making it three Maroon 5 songs in two weeks on the show) and Jordin will attempt Christina Aguilera’s “Figher” (good luck on that one!) If they turn out to be true they are interesting choices indeed.

No one yet knows what the new song written for the finale will be yet, but we will keep you posted if we hear anything before airtime!
