Denny Duquette returns to Grey’s Anatomy

Sunday, February 11th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

dennyduquette.jpg
Everyone has been buzzing about the fact that Denny Duquette is returning to Grey’s Anatomy this season, and Kristin from E! has some exclusive details surrounding his return.

According to inside sources, here’s what I can tell you about Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s return:

  • Denny does not appear in a flashback.

  • Denny does not appear in a dream.
  • It is Denny and not something kooky like his twin.
  • Denny is not the only one we see.

And for the record, the scene in which Denny appears will completely blow your mind. (I’m still picking up the pieces.)

So what does that leave, Denny the ghost?

Backward message hidden in Lost episode Not in Portland

Saturday, February 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

When I watched the scene where Sawyer, Kate and Alex were rescuing Karl, and I totally thought there has to be either a hidden message or one of those scenes that flashed by on the screen had some other meaning to the show.

First, the scene as we saw it when it aired:

And when it plays backwards:

And if you can’t make it out perfectly, it says “Only fools are enslaved by time and space” repeated five times throughout the scene. Creeeeeepyyyyy….

Sneak peak at tomorrow’s Desperate Housewives

Saturday, February 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

A sneak peak scene from tomorrow night’s Desperate Housewives with Susan and Ian where Susan has a meltdown at the funeral home and hides amongst the dead bodies…. and a scene where Ian is proposing? Talk about timing!

Airport destroys original Lost scenes by XRaying film

Saturday, February 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Ooops! Agents at the Honolulu airport accidentily xrayed original film that was shot for Lost, destroying all the scenes contained within the film for upcoming episodes of Lost, which were the only original copies of those scenes.

Film from ABC’s hit show “Lost” was ruined when security employees at the Honolulu International Airport accidentally X-rayed the canisters despite warnings labels asking them not to.

The show’s crew had to reshoot the scenes because there were no copies.

“This is the first time anything like this has happened,” said state Film Commissioner Donne Dawson, adding that steps have been taken to prevent a repeat of the incident.

The loss will not affect the broadcast schedule for the popular show, according to co-executive producer Jean Higgins.

Higgins declined to say how much the gaffe cost ABC.

No word on what scenes were reshoot… but it raises the interesting question of whether any scenes were changed when they were required to be reshoot because of spoilers released. It wouldn’t be the first time that scenes are reshoot because of spoiler buzz surrounding upcoming episodes, although granted, it usually isn’t because the airport staff screwed up and destroyed it!

Crossing Jordan ending this season? Season finale plane crash could be series finale

Saturday, February 10th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

crossingjordancast.jpg

Michael Ausiello says that this could be Crossing Jordan’s final season. I love Crossing Jordan, as you may have noticed, and I am so disappointed to hear that this season’s season finale might turn into a series finale instead.

Got any scoop on Crossing Jordan?— Leslie
Ausiello: The season (and possibly series) finale will revolve around a big plane crash. Among the passengers: Jordan, Woody, Macy, Bug, Nigel and Kate. In other words, the entire frakkin’ cast!

Remember the last plane crash on Crossing Jordan? I hope this one will be a bit better, and with everyone as passengers, this could be interesting! Wonder if Lily is missing from the list because of her pregnancy?

Am I surprised that this could be the series finale instead of just the season finale? Well, Crossing Jordan certainly got the short end of the stick this season, after getting bumped from the schedule for the 1 Vs. 100 game show.

Speedskater Apolo Ohno to compete on Dancing with the Stars

Friday, February 9th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

According to BuddyTV, American Olympic Speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno is the latest celebv to be added to the star studded cast list of the upcoming Dancing with the Stars season.

On yesterday’s edition of ESPN’s Pardon the Interruption, Michael Wilbon reported that Olympic Gold Medal winning speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno would be a contestant on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. As flimsy a source as a sports pundit might seem on matters of celebrity dancing, he’s probably in the know. Wilbon works for ESPN, which is owned by ABC, which is the channel Dancing with the Stars airs on. That’s more than enough credibility for me.

I have liked Apolo Ohno for his “take no prisoners” approach to speedskating, and I suspect his style will be pretty similar as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

Todd Bridges & Orlando Jones guest star on Everybody Hates Chris

Thursday, February 8th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Well, I admit I was surprised to know Todd Bridges was even still doing anything, since I had long since thought the Different Strokes curse had gottem him long ago too. But he seems to have done numerous things since then, albiet nothing particularly high profile enough to land him on the SpoilerBuzz radar til now. But now he is set to guest star with Orlando Jones in the episode “Everybody Hates The Substitute”, according to the CW press release.

Orlando Jones and Todd Bridges join the cast of EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS. Orlando Jones guest stars as Mr. Newton a scholarly substitute teacher who makes Chris’ life a living hell while, Todd Bridges plays Doc’s nephew Monk, in the episode entitled, “Everybody Hates the Substitute,” on EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS, Monday, February 12, 2007 (8:00PM-8:30PM ET/PT) on The CW.

I have not been a fan of Everybody Hates Chris, but it certainly has been picking up some great guest stars this season, and has already been picked up for the third season.

Degrassi launches new “mangasodes” animated episode shorts

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Degrassi fans will be happy to know that “magnasodes” have been launched. They are animated shorts that compliment both the episodes and the manga books that have already been released.

These short episodes are available through the Canadian Degrassi broadcaster, CTV.ca

The popular Degrassi brand is making its world debut online, with Degrassi: Extra Credit “mangasodes” on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca.

At two-minutes in length, the mangasodes are animated extensions of the popular Canadian drama series.

The first mangasode, entitled “Confusionville”, will be available on demand beginning Thursday, Feb. 8 at Noon ET.

“In a world where media are converging in new ways all the time, it seems natural to morph the two-dimensional book world of Degrassi: Extra Credit into animated action shorts for broadband streaming,” said Stephen Stohn, Executive Vice-President, Epitome Pictures Inc., in a release.

The episodes features some of the same Degrassi characters you know and love, anime style.

It is also worth noting for American fans that CTV.ca has a lot of other Degrassi goodies available for downloading and watching, such as on the set interviews and behind the scenes look at Degrassi.

Men in Trees romance when Anne Heche leaves hubby for co-star

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

menintreescast.jpg
It worked for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Now Men in Trees has a real-life romance that has resulted in star Anne Heche leaving her husband for her co-star James Tupper. If course, no one is confirming publicly about the romance, but they aren’t being very discrete about it either.

Sources tell People magazine the reason for the breakup was Heche’s budding relationship with her “Men in Trees” co-star James Tupper, who split from his wife late last year.

Although representatives for Heche and Tupper have not publicly commented on their romance, the couple were spotted getting cozy on a January 13 flight from Vancouver, Canada, to Los Angeles.

According to an eyewitness Heche spent part of the flight on Tupper’s lap, whispering and cuddling. The source adds, “They looked like high school kids in love.

Anne Heche’s husband of five years, Coley Laffoon, filed for divorce in Los Angeles. He is seeking joint custody of their four year old son Homer (am I the only one who thinks that name for a child sucks?) and - you guessed it - spousal support.

Courtney Cox doing sex scenes without a body double on Dirt

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com
courtneycox.jpg

Just how sexy will Courtney Cox get on Dirt? Apparently sexy enough that most actresses would be using body doubles… and there are sex scenes above and beyond her much talked about lesbian liplock with galpal Jennifer Aniston.

Courtney Cox says she’ll be doing her own on-screen sex scenes for her series Dirt and won’t rely on a body double.

The former Friends star plays tabloid magazine editor, Lucy Spiller, in the show and says the racy scenes have given her more confidence.

‘I’m not a little girl anymore. I’m a woman.’

‘I was really nervous at first about exposing myself. It was like, ‘You know what? I’m not going to get a body double. I’m going to be who I am.’

‘That was a big change!’ Cox was reported saying.

So just how far will she be exposing herself on Dirt? I don’t know about you, but picturing Monica in sex scenes is just more than a little weird!

Mark-Paul Gosselaar joins Janeane Garofalo in CBS legal drama

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Former Saved by the Bell and Commander in Chief alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar has signed on to join the untitled CBS legal drama starring Janeane Garofalo. The pilot is being done for a possible Fall 2007 pickup for CBS.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar has busted law-breakers, assisted law-makers and now he’s getting ready to practice law himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the “Saved by the Bell” star has booked a lead role in an untitled CBS drama about the lives of Los Angeles public defenders. The series, from Barry Schindel (”Numbers”), also features Janeane Garofalo.

This project is starting to become a who’s who of talent. This one has real potential to actually be something great for CBS.

Shaggy haired & bearded contestant booted from American Idol for refusing to cut and shave?

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

The latest rumor is that Sean Michel, who looked more like Fidel Castro than American Idol when he audition - impressively - in Memphis with a Johnny Cash song. But now the rumormill is buzzing with the fact Sean got disqualified for refusing to cut his hair and get a shave.

If you missed it, here is the video of his audition and mini interview during the Memphis audition show.

Since Hollywood week for the contestants has already been and gone, I have to ask why would they have shown his audition last week if he had been disqualified? No reason to bring about bad publicity for booting someone from the show based on looks. Undisclosed criminal records, yes, but because you look like Bigfoot? Nope.

He also did a recent interview that seems to imply he definitely was at Hollywood Week.

In fact, for Sean Michel, the best part of the American Idol experience has been getting to know the other contestants, and seeing what God has done in their lives. According to Sean, the American Idol auditions are “like summer camp. You’re with these people all the time, 24/7, hanging out, and you become really close friends, just like that.”

As much as he enjoyed the people, it seems that Sean has experienced some frustration with the show’s musical directions. He wished that they could, “just trust the fact that what’s in my heart will be good enough. You’ve got to trust the artist as an artist.” He also found some difficulty in “getting used to what life is like in front of cameras. I can’t stand t.v. cameras.”

Michel is under a confidentiality clause that prohibits him from speaking (smart thinking American Idol, if he does get the boot!) but he has said he still has his long hair and beard.

So what do you think? I suppose in the end, Paula, Randy and Simon could just decide not to pick Michel based on his looks… after all, it is their right to pick the ones who have the potential to be the next American Idol. And I have to admit, Sean Michel just doesn’t look like an Idol.

Criminal Minds fails to pull off Super Bowl win

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

There was speculation on just how well Criminal Minds would perform when it aired in the post-Super Bowl time slot. After all, 38 million viewers watched Grey’s Anatomy post-Super Bowl episode last year, and catipulted it to superstar status. So how did Criminal Minds too in the same slot?

Well, it had its highest number of viewers for the show ever - 26.2 million viewers, up about 10 million from usual airings of new Criminal Minds episodes. However, it fell far below the huge 38 million strong audience that Grey’s Anatomy pulled in last year.

Maybe Criminal Minds needed to start off the show with a sexy multi-girl shower scene to kick it all off and entice the guys to stick around. However, I suspect that just as many women last year only indulged their boyfriends or hubbies watching the Super Bowl if they then watched Grey’s Anatomy, but I am sure that the shower scene was all the guys needed to convince them to follow through!

Kirstie Alley lands FOX sitcom pilot The Minister of Divine

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I loved Kirstie Alley on Cheers, although I wasn’t such a big fan of Veronica’s Closet. And now Kirstie has been cast in the pilot The Minister of Divine on FOX. She will play a rebel transformed into a preacher on the new show, which is losely based on the British hit comedy The Vicar of Dibley.

No word on when production of the pilot will begin, but it is likely a pilot for the upcoming fall season.

The O.C.’s final episodes are rocked with an earthquake

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

When you live in a high hazard earthquake zone, one way to finish off a series is to destroy all the sets by staging an earthquake. And that is just what is happening on The O.C. with it being the central storyline for the final three episodes of the series.

I was surprised by the way they are finishing it off (what if it does get picked up by another network in the eleventh hour?) but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised considering it is FOX and California ;)

Tim Gunn will be back on Project Runway next season

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com
timgunn.jpg
Fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief… Tim Gunn will be returning to the next season of Project Runway. In fact, it seems to have factored into his decision to leave Parsons and join Liz Claiborne instead.

As you remember, the next season was being filmed while Gunn was scheduled to be teaching at Parsons (his then “day job”), when the fourth season was to be filmed. The rumors began flying he wouldn’t be back. Then he signed with Bravo to produce his own show, and it began to look like the odds were against Gunn coming back.

Then last week, he announced he was leaving Parsons to join Liz Claiborne, and fans suspected it was done so he could continue on with Project Runway. And now Gunn has confirmed he will be back on Project Runway.

In an interview released today:

You have a new job at Liz Claiborne. Will you still be on Project Runway?
Yeah! That’s part of the requirement. My requirement. I said to Bill McComb, if I can’t keep doing these things that are such incredible fun for me, then I wouldn’t want to do that.

Great news for fans!

Someone on Boston Legal is leaving Crane, Poole & Schmidt

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bostonlegal.jpg

Gotta love all these teasers for February sweeps. The buzz has been going on since ABC released the Boston Legal description for the Februarty 13th episode, Fat Burner.

Alan once again defends Denny who is arrested, this time for illegally shipping human fat out of the country to create a new source of fuel production. Meanwhile, Clarence Bell must put on a brave face as he tries his first case a homicide with the help of Bethany Horowitz and Paul Lewiston, and a member of Crane Poole & Schmidt bids farewell.

So is someone leaving? Well, in my perspective, note it just says someone is leaving the firm, not leaving the show. So chances are good whoever is leaving will still be hanging around. But the question is, who is it?

Joss Stone turns down American Idol guest judge spot

Monday, February 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Joss Stone - who you would think would be looking for all the listeners she can get with her new album coming out next month - has turned down an offer to guest judge on American Idol because she thinks the judges are too mean.

The Devon-born soul singer was invited by Simon Cowell to appear as a guest judge on the hit programme American Idol but has turned down the offer. “I find these shows far too cruel,” she says. “Music should be allowed to develop naturally.”

Considering how the show can make super celebs by those who appear, she made an interesting choice, and hopefully one she won’t regret if her new album tanks! How else can you get yourself and your music in front of the multi-millions that American Idol attracts?

Big Brother back this summer for an eighth season

Monday, February 5th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Just when I thought Big Brother was being relegated to has-been status after the seventh season Big Brother All-Stars format, CBS has announced that it will bring back an eighth installment of the reality series beginning this summer.

Julie Chen will once again be the host when the group of unknowns venture into the camera-happy house and start voting each other off once a week.

It is probably a good move to bring it back in the summer when just about everything else is in reruns and there is nothing better on to watch!
