Diana Ross to mentor an episode on American Idol

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Diana Ross told David Latterman during her appearance that she will be acting as a mentor on this season of the popular reality show American Idol. No word when she will appear on the show, but it will be a while before she is seen since we still have weeks to go before we finish up with the audition process.

American Idol airs Tuesdays and Wednesdays on FOX (just incase you are one of the three people that doesn’t know that!)

Bill Goldberg guest stars on Law & Order: SVU

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Bill Goldberg, known for being the former WWE Superstar and World Heavyweight Champion, has signed on to guest star on a single episode of Law & Order: SVU next month. He will play a crazy convict named Cupid (Cupid?? I guess it is close to Valentine’s…).

Goldberg has a family connection to the show - his first cousin is “SVU” executive producer and head writer Neal Baer, M.D., who says “I’ve waited years to work with my cousin Bill, and the cast and I were not disappointed. Now I know who to go to when I need an enforcer.”

In this episode, Goldberg (Cupid) tosses Detective Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) through a window. Goldberg is one of the biggest names the wrestling business has ever seen, and has transitioned from being a superstar in the ring to a television and feature film star. After a brief football career, he changed his focus to develop what became a long and celebrated career in professional wrestling. Goldberg has since held staring roles in a number of feature films including The Longest Yard, Santa’s Slay, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, Ready to Rumble, and Universal Soldier II.

His episode - titled “Loophole” - will air Tuesday, February 6th at 10pm. It should be good to get some wresting fans tuning in, or some chicks can use that fact to entice their guys to tune in with them ;)

Everybody Hates Chris picked up for a third season

Monday, January 22nd, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Everybody Hates Chris will be back for a third season on the CW. And it will be back for a full season run.

“Under the creative guidance of Chris Rock and Ali LeRoi and performances from an incredibly talented cast, ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ has consistently proven itself to be one of the best comedies on television,” said Ostroff. “Producing one great episode after another, this is a show that we want viewers to associate with The CW. We couldn’t be happier to bring it back for another season.”

Congrats to the cast and crew for getting an early pickup for next season!

Marjorie returns to What About Brian on Tuesday

Sunday, January 21st, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We haven’t seen Marjorie since the whole wedding day fiasco triangle with her, Adam and Brian, so you know her arrival on Tuesday’s episode will be anything but quiet… and I know I can’t wait!

And here’s the episode description:

Marjorie’s return causes all kinds of problems and conflicts amongst the new couples. Heather knew she was the second choice for Adam, but didn’t feel like it until Marjorie came back. Brian, who normally dumps his flings around the sixth week, is celebrating his sixth week anniversary with Bridget. Nicole is on the hunt for a nanny, but she seems to find something wrong with each one of them.

Any guesses to the outcome? Can’t help but wonder if it has something to do with the episode mentioning that Brian has hit the six week mark with Bridget… perfect timing for a dumping?

Desperate Housewives Lynette in sneak peak - Video!

I think this scene would have been made so much better with hubby hiding behind the doorway doing a “yessssss!” once she started feeling guilty!

Enjoy!

American Idol contestant’s past comes back to haunt him

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

It didn’t take long for the first scandal of the new season of American Idol to come out… at least the first scandal involving the contestants.

Before he wowed Simon, Paula and Randy during last night’s “American Idol,” Thomas Daniels took his fair share of punishment from real judges over several criminal charges, including drunk driving.

TMZ has unearthed legal documents which reveal that in 2004, Daniels was convicted of DUI in Clackamas, Oregon. The 21-year-old, who was the first wannabe to get the green light from the “AI” crew on last night’s show, pled guilty and was sentenced to a one-year alcohol diversion program and a $680 fine. Daniels also attended eight AA meetings and saw a counselor once a week for two months. After the completing his DUI sentence, the incident was wiped from Daniels’ record.

As we know, if contestants come clean with their criminal past on their applications, they usually get the green light to go ahead because they were honest and upfront about it. However, those contestants who lie about their past usually get unceremoniously booted from the show because they did the crime and then lied about it to producers.

Time will tell what will happen to Thomas Daniels and his Idol dreams.

Unaired Day Break episodes will be available online

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you were a fan of Taye Diggs ABC show Day Break - the show that was supposed to fill the weeks that Lost was on hiatus for - you are in luck. For the show’s few fans, ABC has announced that the remaining episodes will be available online.

The drama was supposed to be a show that could comfortably keep Lost viewers entertained until the show returned, but failed to gain traction and was booted from its time slot after only five weeks. In case you want a refresher:

“Detective Brett Hopper (Diggs) is having a hellacious day,” read a show description, “the kind of day where nothing goes his way and he just can’t wait to put it behind him… only he can’t, because he’s living the same day over and over again.” Diggs’ character is caught in a time-bending dilemma in which he wakes every day at 6:17 AM — though still maintains his memories and injuries from one to the next. Among his complications are being accused of killing an assistant district attorney.

Joining Diggs in the cast are Moon Bloodgood (as his girlfriend Rita), Meta Golding (his sister Jennifer), Victoria Pratt (his partner Andrea), Ramon Rodriguez (gang leader Damien Ortiz) and Adam Baldwin (ex-partner and Internal Affairs agent Chad).

Bachelor Prince Lorenzo Borghese ditches winner for the runner-up he left behind

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

bachelor.jpg

Well, you always kind of have that romantic hope that the Bachelor and his chosen bachelorette end up making it. And to recap, Bachelor Prince Lorenzo Borghese chose Jennifer over Sadie in the series finale. However, in true reality show style, rumors started almost immediately after the final rose ceremony aired that Jennifer was already dating someone else when that show aired.

Now comes word that the Bachelor Prince may have had a change of heart over choosing Jennifer over Sadie.

“Watching Sadie drive away in the limo was by far the worst moment of this entire journey,” a tearful Borghese said during the finale.

Apparently, he never got over saying goodbye to the publicist (and proud virgin). Despite having given Wilson a promise ring on the show’s finale, a source close to Borghese tells Us, “Lorenzo and Jennifer are now on the rocks, and he’s gone back to Sadie. They’re spending time together.”

So it is serious? “Sadie is moving to New York City, where Lorenzo lives, to pursue her career.”

This would be an interesting twist, albiet less of a scandal than Bachelor Bob leaving his bachelorette for the host of the ABC Family airing of the Bachelor. We will keep you posted!

Jeff Goldblum’s new series Raines gets a season premiere date

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Raines finally has a season premiere date! NBC has announced that Raines will take over ER’s timeslot for two weeks starting Thursday March 15th at 10pm, with the second episode of the series airing the following week at the same time. However, ER fans have no fear. ER will be back at its usual time the following week, while Raines will move to its regular time slot of Fridays at 9pm starting on March 30th.

Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Graham Yost (”From Earth to the Moon,” “Band of Brothers,” “Boomtown”) and star Jeff Goldblum (”The Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “Independence Day,” “The Fly”) combine creative forces in the inventive police-drama that blends traditional noir storytelling with humor and intrigue.

Eccentric LAPD Detective Michael Raines (Goldblum) has a unique ability — his imagination is so keen that when he’s on a murder case, the murder victims actually take shape in front of him. At first he thinks he’s losing his mind, but he finds that talking to these constantly evolving hallucinations (they’re figments of his imagination, not ghosts) helps him discover their killers.

Also prominent in Raines’ life are: his understanding boss, Captain Daniel Lewis (Matt Craven, “From the Earth to the Moon”); an antagonistic uniformed officer, Remi Boyer (Dov Davidoff, “Third Watch”); Boyer’s long-suffering partner, Officer Michelle Lance (Linda Park, “Star Trek: Enterprise”); sharp-tongued civilian employee, Carolyn Crumley (Nicole Sullivan, “MadTV”); his former partner, Charlie Lincoln (Malik Yoba, “Thief”), and therapist Samantha Kohl, (Madeleine Stowe, “The Last of the Mohicans,” “We Were Soldiers”).

While the premise of the series is more of a been-there-done-that plot, it will be interesting to see if the creative team and star Jeff Goldblum can pull it off. And with ER’s timeslot, it could have a good chance at picking up some decent ratings by those who tune in expecting ER ;)

It is also worth noting that NBC cut the original series order from 13 to 7 episodes and shut down production on the show immediately following that announcement in December. So don’t expect this show to be around after the initial 7, unless it somehow manages to become a runaway hit.

Adam Beach joining the cast of Law & Order: SVU

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

adambeach.jpg
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was just renewed for the 9th season, despite the contracts of Mariska Hargitay (Det. Olivia Benson) and Christopher Meloni (Det. Elliot Stabler) being up in the air about whether or not they will get their pay raises to come back for the 9th season. But now it looks as thought the producers are making plans in case either one of them don’t come back.

Adam Beach, who appeared on Law & Order: SVU this week in the episode Outsiders as Brooklyn detective Chester Lake (couldn’t they have thought of a better name than CHESTER??) He is reportedly in talks to turn his guest starring role into a series regular one.

“SVU” creator Dick Wolf first worked with Beach on “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee,” the HBO telepic Wolf produced. Beach has the lead role in the project, which is expected to debut in May and is already being considered one of the paybox’s key longform Emmy contenders.

Beach’s other credits include “Windtalkers,” “Joe Dirt” and “Mystery, Alaska.” He’ll also appear in upcoming CBS mini “Comanche Moon,” the Eye’s follow-up to “Lonesome Dove.”

Since Beach is a male, this sounds as though Meloni could be on the chopping block when it comes to signing the two stars for next season. This will be interesting to watch and see how this all plays out.

Bree’s accident could explain why Marcia Cross’ character is in bed

Thursday, January 18th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Orson will be pushing Bree off of a ladder in an upcoming episode of Desperate Housewives, which will likely be used to explain why Bree is stuck in bed, as the actress who plays Bree, Marcia Cross, is now on bed rest due to her twin pregnancy. Ausiello has the scoop.

Not sure if this qualifies as big, but the little demon is going to return to his old ways when he suspects Orson of pushing Bree off a ladder. In related news, care to guess how producers plan to accommodate Marcia Cross’ mandatory bed rest?

As you may have heard, the Desperate Housewives crew is currently turning Marcia Cross’ house into Bree’s Wisteria Lane home. So this accident should be able to easily explain away her need to be in bed for the rest of the season.

Erica Durance temporarily leaving Smallville

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Lois fans will be disappointed to hear that Erica Durance will be taking a leave of absence from Smallville this season. According to Ausiello, she will be off the show for a total of three episodes so she can film Ecstasy, a feature film based on the novel by Irvine Welsh, who also wrote Trainspotting.

However, there has been news that there is trouble with the filming of the movie even getting underway. So she potentially could be around during the time those three episodes would be taped, but it is likely that the episodes have been long since written without Lois appearing in them, so regardless of whether Durance ends up filming Ecstasy or not, she will very likely not be in those episodes.

Survivor back for two more editions in 2007-2008 season

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

While the latest Survivor hasn’t even started, CBS has already announced that the popular reality show will be back for two editions next 2007-2008 viewing season. Survivor Fiji, the 14th installment of Survivor airs its premiere episode on February 8th.

Its pretty incredible that Survivor will be airing through at least 16 editions of the show. But I do have to wonder if the 15th or 16th edition might be another round of Survivor All Stars. I so would love to see some of the faves brought back, especially if they go over all the previous years, not just the ones since the last All Stars.

T.R. Knight appears on Ellen to confirm Isaiah Washington’s use of homophobic slur

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

T.R. Knight appeared on Ellen today, to dispute Isaiah Washington’s claim that he never called T.R. a homophobic slur. And of course, it was the incident that resulted in T.R. coming out of the closet.

T.R. told Ellen “He referred to me as a faggot…Everyone heard it.” I didn’t realize that T.R. Knight was actually there when he said it and that Isaiah called it to his face. I always thought he was off-set when the incident occurred.

I do love Ellen’s new term for George though, McYummy! But damn, I hope they fire Washington.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit renewed for 9th season

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

NBC is getting the jump on picking up shows for the 2007-2008 season. Law & Order: SVU will be back for the nineth season next year.

However, the question still remains about what is going on with the pay raise issue for the show’s two stars. Both Mariska Hargitay (Det. Olivia Benson) and Christopher Meloni (Det. Elliot Stabler) are reportedly holding out for more money to sign on for next season. Does this mean they believe the two will sign? Or will there be a cast revamping going on during the off-season?

Season four of Lost to run straight through

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Looks like the producers of Lost weren’t so happy about this season’s split run with such a large hiatus in the middle. They have confirmed that next season will run straight through from premiere to finale.

As for this year’s split “Lost” season, McPherson said the net would run all 22 episodes of “Lost” straight through next year, perhaps starting in midseason (a la “24″).

I know so many fans are pretty angsty over being such a large hiatus (which was originally designed to give a new series a full 13 episode run). Not to mention it coming back at a new time after the break. This will be a good move to prevent future loss of fans.

Isaiah Washington brings up the whole T.R. Knight incident once again

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Who is letting Isaiah Washington speak in public? If he wants to keep is job (and I am still hoping they can his a$$) he should keep his mouth shut.

At the Golden Globes post-win interview, Isaiah Washington brings up the whole incident between himself and Patrick Dempsey which resulted in T.R. Knight coming out of the closet. And then he denies that he ever called T.R. Knight any kind of homophobic slur. And while on the red carpet in a separate interview with Access Hollywood (with his wife standing with him, no less) he says

“No, I did not call T.R. (Knight) a faggot. Never happened, never happened,” Washington said. You can watch the video here.

But if this was indeed true, why didn’t he deny it months ago when it first happened?

But Katherine Heigl was one pissed off chick after Washington’s outburst.

“I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I’m sorry, that did not need to be said, I’m not okay with it,” Katherine told Shaun.

When asked if she thought it was just an off-the-cuff remark, Heigl added, “I have no idea what it was, I just find it hurtful…I just feel like this is something that should be very much in house we need to deal with and it’s among us and the cast and crew and among Shonda [Rimes, show creator] and the producers.”

You can watch the video here.

I hope Burke dies a horrible and painful death on the show.
