Is there a Lost curse plaguing the cast members?

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lost.jpg

After Evangeline Lilly’s house burned, the Honolulu Advertiser posted an interesting article about all the mishaps that have befallen the cast members, from stalkers to arrests to the house burning.

From armed home invasions to stalking incidents, speeding tickets to DUI charges — all the way to the inferno that consumed actress Evangeline Lilly’s rented Kailua house yesterday — the good life on O’ahu is proving nearly as treacherous to cast members of the hit series “Lost” as bare-knuckles survival on their mysterious fictional island.

In fact, not since Greg Brady got into supernatural hot water with that evil tiki has a Hollywood show experienced such a run of misfortune.

Someone call Mr. Hanalei!

You can read the full article here.

Not sure what I think about the whole curse thing, because really, there hasn’t been *that* much. And let’s face it, driving while drunk isn’t a curse, it’s straight up stupidity. So blaming a curse for Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros driving drunk just isn’t going to fly in my books!

But it does put an interesting spin on it when looking at the incidents together. But then again, Hawaii is a small group of islands, and Lost is the biggest show to hit the islands, so it makes sense that even small incidents like Josh Holloway getting robbed or Harold Perrineau being followed by papparazzi make headlines there while in LA it wouldn’t even make a mention.

Matt Lucas turns down Friar Tuck role on Robin Hood

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Matt Lucas of Little Britain fame has turned down the juicy role of Friar Tuck on the upcoming second season of Robin Hood. It had been rumored that he was very interested in the part, and producers were eager to have him on for the role. But citing scheduling reasons and a very busy schedule, Matt Lucas has reportedly turned down the role.

However, The Stage reports that Lucas has said that he will not be able to take the part next year, in what already promises to be a hectic twelve months. 2007 will see Lucas and comedy partner David Walliams take their Little Britain stage show to Australia, as well as work on a US version of the programme.

Wonder who the next person to be tapped for the role will be.

The O.C. leaving FOX for the C.W?

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

theoccast.jpg

It wouldn’t be the first time that a series has junmped from one network to another. But one has to wonder what will happen to The O.C. if the rumors are true and FOX dumps the series. While rumors running around the internet say this will be the last season on FOX, there is also the equally persistant rumor that The C.W. will pick up the long-running series.

You could just think a rumor is a rumor. But Michael Ausiello lends credibility to the fact this move could become a reality. When asked if The O.C. would be back for another season, he answered “On Fox? No. On another network like, say, the CW? Maybe.”

So where will this leave the O.C.? It depends. If they move to the new network, most of the current cast would have to stay on in order to keep the continuity - and the fans. However, a low rating show on FOX can equal a high ratings on the C.W., since they lack any super powerhouse hits like FOX already has a closetful of.

We will keep you posted on any news on this.

Winning Apprentice project managers get immunity

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

apprenticetrump.jpg

With just over a week to go before the season premiere of season six of the Apprentice, a few new details are leaking out, including the news that the Apprentice is going to follow a Survivor-style immunity. The winning project manager each week will receive immunity from being booted the following week.

I kind of like this idea, since it rewards someone for doing well, even if they are a b!tch to work for while doing it! And since we already know that project managers will lead until they are booted, being a project manager for a good team could result in breezing through to the finals.

Don’t forget, the 90 minute season premiere of The Apprentice will be on NBC at 9:30 on Sunday, January 7th.

Behind the Scenes with Clay Aiken at Days of Our Lives

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you missed Clay Aiken on Days of our Lives, here is a video showing Clay behind the scenes and a couple scene clips including him singing the love song at Dune to Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans).

I think Clay looks way better there than in other recent pics I have seen of him. I wonder if any other American Idol alums will be popping up other soaps now.

Robin Hood coming back for a second season

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

robinhood.jpg

BBC has announced plans to bring back Robin Hood for a second season of 13 episodes. Despite losing one million viewers since the pilot episode, the show has still done well on a competitive night.

“‘Robin Hood’ has been a big hit with family audiences, playing in a tough slot on the most competitive night of the week,” said BBC1 head Peter Fincham. “I’m thrilled that we have a new series to look forward to next year.”

Fincham’s comments were echoed by fellow BBC executive Jane Tranter, who said the Dominic Minghella-scripted series has benefited from its young cast — including Jonas Armstrong as the legendary title character.

It will be great to see how they expand on this to a second season, if they will be introducing more characters or just more stories with the current characters. No word yet if everyone will be back for the second season.

NBC shuts down production on Raines with Jeff Goldblum

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Raines, starring Jeff Goldblum, was supposed to be a mid-season replacement series, scheduled to air its 13 episode run on Friday nights starting in March. But NBC has shut down production on the show, cutting back its episode order from the original 13 to 7. The show stars Jeff Goldblum as a cop in L.A. who can see dead people… kind of like Medium, but with credentials ;)

NBC still has plans to air the series in March on Friday nights, but just as a shorter series.

New Year’s Eve Ugly Betty marathon on ABC Family

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

uglybettycast.jpg

No hot date or fun night out on New Year’s Eve? Well, ABC Family is hoping you will tune into their Ugly Betty marathon!

Marathon starts at 9am PST with the pilot episode and runs through til 6pm PST.

And as a side note - who would have known Selma Hayek was actually promoting anything other than her cleavage when she made this announcement?

Brothers & Sisters episodes now available online

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ABC has now made available all the previously aired episodes of the Sally Field and Calista Flockheart breakout show available for downloading online. However, it sounds like those episode might only be available until the first new episode after the Christmas break airs, then it will go back to only having four episodes available for download.

So if you need to catch up on some episodes, now is the time to do it!

Barbara Eden guest starring on George Lopez

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

I must say, of all the television shows I would have expected Barbara Eden of I Dream of Jeanie fame to be guest starring on, George Lopez would be pretty darn near the bottom of the list. But George Lopez is the show that Barbara Eden will be guest starring on as a housekeeper who does just about anything but clean house!

Barbara has joined the cast in the role of Ruth, George and Angie’s (CONSTANCE MARIE) new housekeeper, but one who is not all that interested in keeping house. George got the idea from a friend, who had hired a housekeeper who was great with kids, but left the house in a mess.

“I think she just loves to do for him,” Barbara says. “She just wants to cook, bake and feed him. I feel that way about my dog. Some people like to nurture. That is just the way she is. She just wants to see him eat and be happy. She really doesn’t want to do housework. It isn’t her thing. My mother was a little like that.”

No specific airdate has been announced, other than “early 2007″ so my bet is that they plan to air the Barbara Eden episode during February sweeps.

This season to be King of Queens last season

Tuesday, December 26th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

kingofqueens.jpg
The King of Queens is currently the longest running series on television, and they will be passing the torch along when the show ends at the end of the current season.

I have enjoyed the series, but the storylines are getting pretty old with a “been there, done that” feel to it. That unfortunately is a problem with sitcoms without a large main character pool to draw from (something Friends did quite successfully.) The ratings are still solid, although not as great as they have been in the past. But it has been a solid show for CBS so I am surprised they are cancelling it after the end of this season.

Heroes t-shirts in Christmas Day football game promotion

Monday, December 25th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

heroes3.jpg
NBC isn’t taking any chances that people might forget about Heroes during their winter hiatus. They plan a football tie-in today at the Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles football game today. NBC plans to distribute 10,000 Heroes t-shirts to fans, and if they end up on the air wearing their t-shirts, they get $100! Not a bad way to get a whole lot of people wearing your shirts on short notice, especially with all those holiday credit card bills en route to mailboxes!

Announcers will also be commenting on the show during the game, so if you are a fan, watch the game or TiVo it so you can fast forward to any Heroes parts :)

Laguna Hills star Stephen Colletti to guest on One Tree Hill

Friday, December 22nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

onetreehillcast.jpg

If you have been missing Stephen Colletti since he left Laguna Hills: The Real Orange County and his job at Laguna Surf and Sport, you are in luck. Stephen Colletti will be guest starring in an upcoming episode of One Tree Hill. Colletti will be playing a “clean teen” and will reportedly be getting it on with Brooke (Sophia Bush).

No word on when the upcoming episode will be airing, but One Tree Hill comes back post-holidays with new episodes starting on January 8th.

Nick dies on CSI Miami and Natalia is arrested for murder

Friday, December 22nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

csimiamicast.jpg

I actually quite enjoyed the character of Nick Townsend, Natalia’s ex-husband played by Rob Estes. But now he’s going to be murdered, and Natalia will be arrested for murder. The episode is “Internal Affairs” and is the first episode for CSI Miami after the holiday break, airing on January 8th.

From the episode description:
Nick is murdered in his condo and Natalia is arrested for the crime when evidence at the scene suggests she killed him, but Horatio tries to clear her name. The evidence also reveals that Delko and Nick fought earlier in the day. In another case, a wealthy single man is found dead in his mansion with a granite-topped bookshelf on top of him. The investigation reveals the victim was seeing a therapist who suddenly dropped him as a patient.”

While I admit I am definitely disappointed to see Rob Estes leave, I think this will make a great storyline, especially since it seems that Eric gets caught up into the mess as well. Even in death, Nick is causing problems for the CSIs!

Flight attendant Cindy returns to Lost… as an Other?

Friday, December 22nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

ABC has been airing short ten second or so scenes from the second half of season three as teasers, airing during the now-cancelled Day Break. We haven’t seen Cindy since she vanished while the Tailies were heading up the slope… and then right after the group realized she was missing, the jungle whispers began with the presumption the Others had taken her.

Well, now that we see this scene, she appears to be with the Others, since she approaches Jack with a large group of Others, and tells Jack she is there to “Watch”. Now that we know she seems to be an other, it could potentially answer a few other questions… such as if she was chasing down Charlie when the plane broke up, why did she end up with the Tailies yet Charlie ended up with the front section survivors?

Ana Lucia to appear in Lost flashbacks in 2007

Friday, December 22nd, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

analucia.jpg

As soon as I saw the pics of Michelle Rodriguez (Ana Lucia from Lost) jogging on a Hawaiian beach, I thought “Ooooh, I bet she’s filming Lost!” Now it has been confirmed that Ana Lucia is coming back to Lost, albiet in flashbacks only.

No word on what episode(s) she will be appearing in or whose flashback they will be in. She had previously appeared in two flashback episodes, both Jack-centric, where she was with Jack as well as Jack’s father Christian. With so much being focussed on Jack this season, she could definitely be appearing in one of his flashbacks, but they have pretty much done all they can do with the brief airport bar exchange they can.

Aside from the opening five minutes of this season, nothing shocked me as much as when Michael shot Ana Lucia and Libby on Lost. So I am interested to see how this works out.

Stacey Keibler to guest star on George Lopez

Thursday, December 21st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Official Women of Wrestling star Stacey Keibler will be guest starring for a two-episode arc on George Lopez, where she will play the gold digging future wife of George’s father-in-law.

For non-wrestling fans, Stacey is best known for her third place finish on Dancing with the Stars (Drew Lachey was the winner) as well as a couple appearances on Ashton Kutcher’s Punk’d.

Neela & Ray get together on ER in February

Thursday, December 21st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you have been hoping for Ray and Neela to get in on, you are about to be in luck. You won’t need to wait for any silly season finale cliffhanger, because it will be happening on February 8th!

The episode is called “Murmurs of the Heart”. But check out the episode description:

While Luka tries to extricate Pratt from a legal mess, Abby has an unexpected visitor. Later, Luka receives an emergency summons, and finds himself in the middle of a tense confrontation. Neela must accompany an unexpected overdose case to the hospital. Sam’s new home is soon under threat from fire, but who started it?

Could Ray be the unexpected overdose?

It will be interesting to watch how this plays out… will it be a drunken interlude which results in all that pesky awkwardness, or will it be a “i looked into your eyes and I knew” moment. But either way, Neela and Ray fans will take whatever kind of hooking up between the two that they can get!

Jerry Springer signs on for several stops on the Dancing with the Stars tour

Thursday, December 21st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
jerryspringer.jpg
Sara Evans isn’t the only one who will be stopping by the Dancing with the Stars tour. Word comes that Jerry Springer has also agreed to make several appearances on the tour as well.

Jerry Springer will be appearing January 5th in Chicago, January 7th in Columbus, January 9th in Cleveland, January 17th in Cincinnati and January 21st in Nashville (which will also be the show that Sara Evans makes an appearance at.)

I have to admit, when I first heard Jerry Springer was going to be on the show, I thought OMG, what are they thinking??? And now, here I am, thinking how fortunate those ticketholders will be to get to see him perform live :)
