TV Spoilers for December, 2006

Brian Dennehy, Paget Brewster guest stars on this week’s Law & Order: SVU

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Tuesday night’s Law & Order: SVU, the first episode back from the Christmas hiatus, is chock full of guest stars. Paget Brewster (who herself just landed a role on Criminal Minds) is guest starring in this episode, along with Brian Dennehy (who plays a cancer patient) . And Judith Light, who I will always remember best as being from Who’s the Boss?, will also appear in her recurring role in this episode.

The episode is titled “Scheherezade”, and will air Tuesday, January 2nd.

More about the episode:

Stabler agrees to hear the dying confession of a cancer patient named Judson Tierney (Brian Dennehy), but first he and Benson do some digging into what possible crime Tierney’s guilty of and come up with an unsolved case that goes back 47 years. However, according to Tierney, that is merely the “tip of the iceberg.” Sheila Tierney: Paget Brewster. Elizabeth Donnelly: Judith Light. Rita Colino: Victoria Wyndham. Mike Mollinax: John Doman.

The entire Law & Order franchise has nabbed some pretty high profile guest stars this season, which is sure to bring their ratings up even higher as people try to catch their favorite stars in their guest starring roles.

Rose Byrne & the OC’s Tate Donovan signs onto Glenn Close FX pilot

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Tate Donovan has signed on to join Glenn Close in her recently announced F/X pilot. The pilot, which is still untitled, has a few names familiar to the theatre as well… Rose Byrne (Marie Antoinette) and Zeljko Ivanek (Oz; 24).

Bryne will play the central character Ellen Parsons, “a beautiful, self-possessed attorney fresh out of law school who lands her dream job working for Patty Hughes (Close), America’s foremost high-stakes litigator,” the trade mag describes.

Set in New York, the drama will also feature Donovan as “Hughes’ senior legal associate and most trusted adviser,” and Ivanek as “a Southern legal war horse, Hughes’ opposing attorney in a major case that would play out during the show’s first season.”

It is nice to finally see some new details emerge about this new pilot. And I have always enjoyed Tate Donovan back from his Friends days, so this should be one to watch. No word yet as to when this might be premiered, but production on the series is set to begin in February.

New Courtney Cox series Dirt premieres Tuesday January 2nd

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
courtneycox.jpg
Courtney Cox is back with a brand new series - on F/X - where she stars as an editor in charge of two trashy celeb gossip tabloids, “Dirt” (what a great title!) and “Now”. She alienates celebs and employees a like with her ruthless do-whatever-it-takes attitude when it comes to being the first to break a story.

Courtney Cox (who curiously decided to not use her married name, Courtney Cox-Arquette, which she did use on Friends) stars as Lucy Spiller, but also has a cast of co-stars including Ian Hart as her photographer, Laura Allen who plays an actress and Josh Stewart (from Third Watch) as Lucy’s boytoy boyfriend.

The series is definitely getting a lot of buzz, and since the show is on The F/X, you are going to see a lot of the underbelly of the industry you wouldn’t have seen on one of the big networks.

The show premieres on Tuesday, January 2nd.

Jamison Jones to head President’s Secret Service on 24

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Ok, who isn’t joining the latest season of 24? Now comes word that Jamison Jones has signed on for a recurring role playing the head of the President’s secret service detail. Jones - who actually guest starred on two episodes of the show back in 2003 as a deputy - will play Wayne Palmer’s (DB Woodside) head of the secret service.

Jamison Jones has guest starred on many popular series, including NCIS, Crossing Jordan, Alias, That 70s Show, Will & Grace, and even Beverly Hills 90210.

No word as of yet when his episodes will air but the new season premieres with a two-day four-hour extravaganza beginning January 14th. And don’t forget the season six 24 trailer is available online too!

Prison Break Special to include interviews & upcoming previews

Sunday, December 31st, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com
prisonbreak.jpg

Prison Break is following the cue of Lost and other episodic dramas in hopes of capturing new viewers who don’t have a clue what is going on by having a special episode designed to catch the newbies all up on what has been happening so far this season. Also included is a preview for the remaining nine episodes of the season, as well as interviews with many of the Prison Break cast members.

The show has proven to be popular - but like many shows (such as Lost) that have a very important plot that carries through the entire season and beyond, it can be hard for new viewers to get into a show like Prison Break. So hopefully this will result in some additional viewers getting hooked on Prison Break… and you can use it to convince others to become hooked on Prison Break too, so you have someone to talk to about the latest episode or spoiler.

This episode is set to air January 8, 2007 on FOX.

Preview the Poo song from the musical episode of Scrubs

Saturday, December 30th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We first reported that Scrubs would be doing a special musical episode with Avenue Q star Stephanie D’Abruzzo. Well they have now released one of the songs that will appear in the episode.

The song is — and I kid you not — “Everything Comes Down to Poo”.

robinhood.jpg

The BBC reports that all the main Robin Hood characters will be back for the second series season of Robin Hood. The main characters include Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood), Lucy Griffiths(Marian), Keith Allen (the Sheriff) and Richard Armitage (Sir Guy). The full released listing of characters also includes Sam Troughton, Gordon Kennedy, Joe Armstong and Harry Lloyd.

Filming will begin in the spring, once again filming in Budapest. Dominic Minghella is once again writing the episodes. No potential airdates yet, other than sometime in later 2007.

One can imagine they will be keeping better control on those films this time around, after the first seasons only tapes were stolen but fortunately recovered.

Alex and Addison lean in for a kiss… new promo for Grey’s Anatomy

Friday, December 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Now, we saw the whole Alex and Addison thing happening. Now it looks like they go from “thinking about kissing” to “really kissing”, even prompting Meredith to ask Alex how Addison is.

This promo has a lot of other stuff going on as well. It looks as though a party is going on in George’s dad’s room, but later, George is screaming at a visibily upset Miranda. Izzie deposits her check (finally!) while looking as though she might have a nervous breakdown. And we discover Meredith snores, which could be why Derek is having those rumored sleep problems.

Only a couple more weeks til the hiatus is over… January 11th is the day!

New Desperate Housewives clip… Gabby has a secret admirer?

Friday, December 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

We have a 90-second clip of the upcoming Desperate Housewives clip showing Gabby on a boring date (who takes a hot chick like Gabby to see a documentary?? Come on guys…) when she receives flowers from someone admiring her from afar. She confronts Carlos…. and I’ll let you view the rest to find out what happens. But the question remains, who is admiring Gabby, because it isn’t Carlos. But her admirer won’t be revealed for a little while yet…

I am still not sure who I want Gabby to be with… except maybe hottie lawnboy, simply for the eye candy factor!

Oscar De La Hoya is coming back to the small screen, but this time its not pay-per-view. Oscar De La Hoya has been tapped by ABC’s George Lopez for a guest starring role. However, he won’t be playing himself (as he often does for guest starring appearances). Instead, he will be playing a trash talking doc on the hit sitcom.

The airdate hasn’t been set yet, nor was it revealed if he has already taped the episode.

Anna Chlumsky & Jennifer Beals guest star on Law & Order

Friday, December 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lawandorderlogo.jpg

Wow. I didn’t even realize Anna Chlumsky had done much of anything since appearing as a child in the tear-jerker My Girl back in 1991. She has done a few things, but nothing of real note. However, she will be in a January episode of Law & Order, along with former Flashdancer Jennifer Beals. Jennifer Beals is also currently starring in fourth season of The L Word (Thanks TLW fans for letting me know!)

Not much is known about the episode, titled Charity Case. “Secrets about an adopted child are uncovered in the course of an investigation into the shooting death of a soap-opera star’s husband.”

The episode is scheduled to air January 12, 2007 on NBC.

Sleeper Cell’s Henri Lubatti playing Taylor’s ex on The O.C.

Friday, December 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Sleeper Cell fans will remember Henri Lubatti, who played Ilija Korjenic earlier this year. And hardcore 24 fans will remember his turn as Jovan Myovic on 24 back in 2002. Now Henri Lubatti visits The O.C. where he is playing Talylor’s French ex-husband, who comes to town promoting his, um, book.

Ryan reads between the lines when Taylor’s ex-husband (Henri Lubatti) promotes his risqué novel in Newport; Summer gets a glimpse of married life from her socialite peers, while Seth flies to Seattle in search of Dr. Roberts’ blessing; and Kirsten investigates Julie’s secret business practices.

The episode is called The French Connection and airs on January 11, 2007 on FOX.

Raymond’s Doris Roberts guest stars on L&O Criminal Intent

Friday, December 29th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Doris Roberts, who played Marie Barone on the long-running sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond will guest star in an upcoming episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The episode, which will feature Goren and Eames as the investigators, follows the murder of a socialite’s granddaughter… cue Doris as the prominent socialite.

The episode is titled Privilege, and is scheduled to air on January 9th, 2007.

I am looking forward to seeing Doris in this kind of role, especially since her character on Everybody Loves Raymond is so engrained in everyone’s minds still.

Sawyer & Kate get a gun during their escape from the Others

Thursday, December 28th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

Have you seen the sixth Lost moment yet? This moment seems to pick up at what should be the first episode after the hiatus. We see Jack in surgery with Ben on the operating table, while Kate and Sawyer try and find a way off the table. And we see Sawyer shooting at the Others who are chasing them… and since they are being chased, does this mean Ben dies or have they just not got the word there is a hostage situation in the O.R. ;)

But there is still a month to go before the first new episode after hiatus airs on February 8th.

Thursday, December 28th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

If you missed the series the first time around, or have only caught occassional episodes here and there, CMT will be airing an Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search marathon on Friday, January 5th.

It starts at 4pm EST/PST and runs through the entire eight episode run, ending at midnight.

Have any problems convincing your husband or boyfriend to watch? Just mention the barely-dressed potential Coyotes dancing on bars ;)

Auditions have been completed for the new second season of the show. So hopefully we will see the new season premiere a few months from now!

Mariel Hemingway in Anna Nicole Smith-esque episode of Law & Order

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lawandordercasr.jpg

When Law & Order returns back from the Christmas hiatus, the first new episode will feature guest star Mariel Hemingway playing a tabloid personality whose son dies under suspicious circumstances while visiting. Yep, this sounds suspiciously ripped from the headlines on the whole Anna Nicole Smith saga when her son died while visiting her in hospital, something Law & Order is infamous for doing.

A young man, who was homeless and addicted to drugs, dies under very strange circumstances while visiting his mother (Mariel Hemingway), a tabloid personality known for her alleged gold-digging ways. Dr. Adam Vaughn: Ben Bass. Tony Bicks: Dan Bakkedahl. Dave Seaver: Michael Boatman. M.E. Rodgers: Leslie Hendrix.

As you will remember, Anna’s son David Smith died under mysterious circumstances while visiting her in hospital where she had just given birth to a daughter. He died after taking a deadly prescription drug cocktail.

The episode is called Remains of the Day and is scheduled to air on January 5th on NBC.

Judd Nelson guest stars on Las Vegas in January

Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 on SpoilerBuzz.com

lasvegascast2.jpg

I have loved Judd Nelson, right back from his Breakfast Club Days. And I enjoyed him on Suddenly Susan, although I never was a huge fan of the show. But now he will be hitting the small screen in January with a guest starring role on Las Vegas.

Judd plays Ollie, the husband of one of Ed’s former employees. The couple returns to Las Vegas for their anniversary but Ed is suspicious of Ollie.

Here is the official episode description:

One of Ed’s most revered former employees (Kate Levering) returns to the Montecito for her wedding anniversary, but her hubby (Judd Nelson) raises Ed’s suspicions. Meanwhile, Mary and Sam battle to woo different VIPs. Indie rockers OK Go appear as themselves.

This episode, titled “Fleeting Cheating Meeting” will air on January 12th.
